Estas clases plantean un acercamiento estético a la música de compositores emblemáticos de la historia; con énfasis especial en aquellos del siglo XX, para a través de ellos lograr que el estudiante pueda componer, orquestar, analizar y entender la música y aplicar estos conocimientos con creatividad a su propio estilo.

Pretende un desarrollo del pensamiento crítico respecto a la historia y la filosofía del arte y la creación de procesos y conceptos creativos propios. Se abordan discusiones acerca de la belleza, su significado y los vínculos con distintas corrientes artísticas y filosóficas contemporáneas.

Las clases tiene como finalidad la producción de música instrumental de cámara original e inédita que se puedan estrenar, enviar a concursos o maquetar para catálogo.

Los contenidos que en los que se profundizarán de acuerdo a los objetivos y expectativas del estudiantes podrán ser:

Hola soy Compositor, Artista Sonoro y Profesor especializado en música instrumental y vocal de cámara, sinfónica, para audiovisuales y experimental. Tengo trayectoria sobre todo en la creación de música para ensambles y producciones de vanguardia.

La música contemporánea es un amplio campo en el cual se puede experimentar infinitamente. En mis clases aprenderás no solo la teoría básica de la música clásica como armonía, sino que extenderemos esos conocimientos hasta su uso moderno y vanguardista, también abordaremos la construcción de melodías y orquestación.

La música puede llegar a ser uno de los artes más versátiles si se sabe apreciar y manipular todas las herramientas que a lo largo de los siglos se han ido desarrollando. ¿Cómo componía Mozart? ¿Por qué la música de Debussy es tan idílica? ¿Qué hace tan potente a la banda sonora de Star Wars? Todo esto tiene respuestas (y más sencillas de lo que pensamos) en mis clases de composición y orquestación vamos a ver como aprender de los grandes compositores de la historia y como aplicar estos conocimientos a la música del siglo XXI, a tú música, sea cual sea que hagas, desde rock o pop, jazz hasta minimalismo o vanguardismo electroacústico.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Hi! I have over 7 years of teaching experience from young kids to adults of all levels and I love it! My goal is for my students to find joy in playing an instrument and have fun during the lessons. Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.

Hello and welcome to my music studio! It is absolutely fabulous that you are interested in music, and I hope you have lots and lots of fun with it! However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in!
This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano.
In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. If that all sounds good to you, then please reach out to me and we can start ASAP!
Lessons can be in English or Dutch.

So who am I?
In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege.
On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year.
Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person, and I aim to transfer that passion to my students.

Ik geef al lange tijd privé muzieklessen en fortepiano. Naast mijn klassieke muziekopleiding in 2000, heb ik mijn bachelor in psychopedagogie in 2006 afgehaald. Dit jaar ben ik geïnteresseerd in het uitbreiden van mijn praktijk met meer leerlingen met speciale behoeften.
Ik heb geleerd over de verschillende manieren waarop muziek leerlingen met speciale behoeften kan helpen. Het helpt hen hun emoties te uiten en hun herinneringen en zelfregulerende vaardigheden te ontwikkelen.
Het kan hen sterke punten laten zien die ze anders misschien niet zouden vinden tijdens hun schooldag. Het kan ook hun ogen openen voor een hele wereld van expressie en schoonheid, waardoor hun leven wordt verrijkt.
Ik zoek uit wat voor een bepaalde student werkt, wat hen afleidt, wat hen motiveert, wat hen helpt zich te concentreren en soms gewoon te leren hoe ze zich tot hen kunnen verhouden.

Mi nombre es Miriam, soy graduada en Maestría en Música Clásica en KASK & Conservatorium en Gante.
Llevo 10 años dando clases de violonchelo a niños, adolescentes y adultos, por lo que he adquirido la experiencia necesaria para poder adaptarme a las diferentes y personales necesidades y objetivos de cada alumno. Mi metodología de enseñanza se centra en crear un ambiente agradable y relajado (¡lo que no quiere decir poco exigente!) en el que los alumnos se sientan seguros para expresar sus propias ideas e inquietudes. En mis clases me centro en cuestiones técnicas y posturales, pero también reflexionamos juntos sobre la música, ya que me gusta que mis alumnos desarrollen sus propias ideas musicales y no se limiten a imitar al profesor.

Bij pianoles gebruiken wij de boekmethode van Hal Leonard (Kinderen onder 8 het Les- en Speelboek).
Alles wordt stap voor stap uitgelegd en gaandeweg leer je noten lezen en piano leren kennen.

Kijk in het begin samen naar wat voor jou belangrijk is. Welke doelen wil je stellen en wat voelt haalbaar en comfortabel?
We stellen lange termijn doelen van bijvoorbeeld een jaar. Helemaal afgestemd op waar jij nu staat.

Tijdens de lessen ben ik geduldig, motiverend, aanmoedigend en complimenterend. Ik geef aan wat er beter kan, en let ook op hoe je makkelijker kunt spelen. En nog veel meer. Afgestemd op uw behoeften en wensen.

Wil je je eigen muziek leren schrijven, opnemen of producen? Of ben je geïnteresseerd in sound design? Dan kan ik je verder op weg helpen!
Muziekproductie en opnametechniek lijkt op het eerste zicht ingewikkeld, maar in onze 1-op-1 privé-lessen kunnen we de creatieve én technische tools overlopen die jij nodig hebt om je eigen creativiteit de vrije loop te laten.

Of het nu gaat om songwriting, opname technieken of beats maken, we kunnen het allemaal samen doen. Alle genres zijn welkom.
Tijdens de lessen kunnen we leren werken met verschillende programma’s, zoals Logic, Pro Tools of Ableton.
De lessen zijn voor leerlingen van alle leeftijden en niveau’s. Kennis van notenleer is niet vereist.

Zelf heb ik gitaar en muziekproductie gestudeerd op het Conservatorium in Gent en ben ik al verschillende jaren actief als professioneel muzikant. Ik heb al 12 jaar ervaring als privé-leerkracht.

Lessen gaan door in Gentbrugge dichtbij het Keizerpark.
Het exacte tijdstip van de les kunnen we samen in overleg bepalen. Allemaal zeer flexibel dus.

If you are learning how to play it, I have the gear to help you create and record a song, so you can share it with your friends and family, or just have it for yourself.
I can play a lot of instruments and create tracks to accompany you. You can write a song or make a recording of you playing something you are working on. Depending on your level and experience with music, it would be a great way to learn some music theory too.

Tengo un Máster en Interpretación de Piano por The Hartt School (EE. UU.) y me formé en la ESMUC Barcelona, donde estudié con pianistas de renombre internacional como Adolf Pla y Luiz de Moura Castro. He actuado en Europa, EE. UU. y Asia, y he impartido clases de piano durante más de 15 años, en conservatorios, estudios privados y online a nivel internacional.

As a musician and piano teacher, I understand these struggles very well. I personally had a hard time with the rigid structure of traditional music schools, and for a the longest time I didn’t know how to practise efficiently.
