(English below) NL: Met al een aantal jaren ervaring als drumleraar voor jong en oud, kijk ik er naar uit ook jou te helpen met het beter worden van het bespelen van dit prachtige instrument! Samen bestuderen we de basis technieken, ritmes, iconische grooves en fills, creatieve manier van soleren en improviseren en vooral het bevorderen van jouw muzikaliteit. Ikzelf zit momenteel in mijn master jazz-drums aan het conservatorium te Antwerpen en kan me dus goed inbeelden hoe moeilijk maar fantastisch leuk het is iets nieuws te leren. Klassieke muziek, Rock, Hip-hop, Latin, jazz... alles wat u maar wilt is mogelijk. Lessen kunnen gevolgd worden in Antwerpen (Ma-Vrij), bij mij thuis in Aalst (Vrij-Zon) of Online (eenders). ENG: As i've been teaching young and old for already a couple of years, i'm looking forward to help you get better at your instrument. Together we'll look into the basic techniques, advanced rhythms, iconic grooves 'n fills and overall improve your musicality. Currently i'm in my masters for Jazz drums at the conservatory of Antwerp and just like you, i'm loving learning new things and challenging myself. From Classical music, Rock, Hip-Hop, Latin, Jazz... we can look into all of it if you like. Classes can be followed in Antwerp (from Monday till Friday), at my home in Aalst (Friday till Sunday) or Online (whenever you like).

I teach drums for different levels and ambitions. My students, according to their feedback :) they always get to the point they wished to get, and that is why I love to do what I do: I want YOU to improve your musicality on the instrument, according to your wishes and help you achieve your specific goals. If I´d teach what I want, then you´ll for sure quit playing or in the best option change teacher. In this course you will learn techniques, patterns, phrasings and drum vocabulary to be able to play whatever interests you. This course is not limited to any specific level. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, this course will focus on your personal interests as a musician. We will explore the instrument from a contemporary perspective based on tradition in order to not only survive in any musical context, but also exceed expectations. We will work together to develop all aspects of a good contemporary drummer: technique, control, coordination, independence, creativity and expression. As a teacher and student, I can assure you that the development of a musician is not only born from training and theory, but also from the enjoyment of playing the instrument, so in this course you will have 50% technical work and 50% development of skills. repertoire (songs you want to play).

I'm a professional drummer from Spain, but living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I have studied Latin drums at Codarts, university of the arts, in Rotterdam, so I've acquired a lot of knowledge and skills on Cuban and Brazilian music, jazz, funk and Pop. I've performed in places such as: North Sea Jazz Festival, Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Tivoli (Utrecht), Jazzcafe Dizzy, etc...

I offer drumming lessons catered to your needs and pace. I have played in many different settings in South Africa and Hong Kong and have worked with many different musicians. Having the ability to adapt to different people and ways of doing things would have been a challenge without technical, theory and listening skills. These are all part of the learning process and so they are worked into the lessons accordingly. Together we can determine goals and get you playing comfortably and confidently. We will cover everything from basics to being able to work out parts to your favourite songs. I am extremely patient and ready to help you excel. The most important thing is that you have fun doing it. Yes, there will be some challenges, but rest assured that nobody you see performing got there instantly. It all takes time, dedication and passion.

During the lesson you rock and believe on the drum set and we get to work with your favorite music. Who am I? Hi, my name is Ruben and I love music! I started playing drums when I was 7 and have never stopped. After high school I studied at the Rock Academy in Tilburg, where I developed further as a musician. I am regularly on stage myself. Mostly as a drummer, but also as a guitarist. I like to share my love for music with others. Through the lessons I give, I let the students experience how much fun it is to make music themselves. I have been doing this with great pleasure for more than 6 years. In addition, I have been teaching for 5 years and I regularly give music workshops.

We will talk about your goals and together we will figure out what you exactly need to level up . I will design a practise schedule for you with suitable exercises that you personally enjoy and find it fun, cos hey, music is supposed to be a stress buster, but that being said you gotta work to get better at anything. We will also talk about how it is to be a professional musician in the current music scene, and what skills apart from drumming is needed to be a musician. I have been teaching privately for the past 3 years, with happy students, and I am so glad that I am being able to help others move further in this journey of drums and life. I have been playing drums for 12 years and have participated in many concerts, through several music groups. This experience allows me today to develop my own teaching method aimed at developing your practice of the drums through the pleasure of the instrument and improvisation. Intent of course is the development of piano proficiency skills. Focus given to basic keyboard technique, score reading and performance, sight-reading, harmonization, accompanying, and transposition. We shall be learning about different musical instruments that you may wish to study. Gain experience practicing a new instrument (the soprano recorder). Learn basic music literacy skills. This class is intended for students ages 6–8 who are interested in studying a musical instrument, but who wish to learn more before making the commitment to private instrument lessons.
