Muziek programmeren met Max en elektronische muziek met Ableton

Max is een visuele programmeertaal om audio (en video) kunst te maken. Bijna zoals met LEGO verbind je verschillende bouwstenen met elkaar en maak je zo een audio (of video) circuit.
Ik heb jarenlange ervaring in het maken van programma's in Max en wil deze kennis delen. Ik start vanaf de basis en zorg dat het programmeren ook theoretisch onderbouwd is: ik wil dat je niet enkel iets ineznsteekt maar ook begrijpt waarom iets werkt. Die extra kennis helpt om sneller te werken als je verdergaat.
Voor een programma dat meer gericht is op audio gebruik ik Ableton. Ik gebruik dit programma al een tiental jaar voor mijn eigen muziekproductie en ken het programma van binnen en van buiten.

Je hebt je eigen laptop nodig alsook een licentie voor Max. Je kan een maandelijkse licentie kopen of een permanente, op de website van cycling74. Ik raad aan om met een maandelijkse licentie te beginnen.
Voor Ableton kan je een intro licentie kopen op de website van Ableton.

Ik ben een geluidskunstenaar en onderzoeker. Ik werk vaak met extra-muzikale informatie als een startpunt. Zo heb ik een programma gemaakt met Max om beurskoersen in muziek om te zetten. Ik heb ook grote installaties gemaakt bijvoorbeeld Outros Registros over politiegeweld in Rio de Janeiro.
Ik heb in verschillende landen gewoond en gewerkt en heb dus een breed netwerk van contacten in de kunstwereld.

Music is a dynamic art, and is my believe that it is how it should be taught. Practice is as necessary and important as theory, and sometimes even more. Beginner students start playing guitar within the first month, and not long after that they are able to compose their own music. My purpose is that the student open all the possibilities this instrument offers, and not just learn to play 3 chords; in music everything is possible when you know how and when to do it.

La música es un arte dinámica, y por ende es así como me gusta enseñarla. La practica es igual de necesaria e importante que la teoría, a veces hasta más. En mi curso el estudiante puede tocar desde las primeras clases, y en un punto no muy lejano componer su propia música. En cuanto a guitarra, mi propósito es que el estudiante se abra a todas las posibilidades que este instrumento ofrece, no solo a tocar 3 acordes; dentro la música todo es posible, todo lo puedes hacer siempre y cuando sepas como y cuando hacerlo.

Je suis un compositeur et guitariste espagnol, gradué en Master en composition au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Mon instrument et style principale est la guitare classique, mais je joue également de la guitare électrique et le piano depuis plus de dix ans. Je suis compositeur et producteur musical, dont j'utilise divers logiciels tels que Ableton Live et Sibelius, ainsi que du hardware divers comme des synthés, pédales et d'autres composants.

J'offre des cours composition et production musicale, ainsi que divers aspects liés à la production musicale.

One-to-one music lessons inspired by the teachings of Suzuki, Havas, Hoppenot, and Galway.

The lessons are adjusted according to age, level, and interests. The most important is that the student will learn in an enjoyable way for them.

It is only possible to take 45 min. lessons when the student receives more than one lesson a week -which is highly recommended for anyone that might want to become a professional musician. Lessons longer than an hour are also possible for anyone over 14 years old.

Other possibilities, a combination of instrumental/theory lessons and prices can be discussed.

We will explore the world of electronic music, starting with the basics of sound synthesis and moving on to multi-channel diffusion in 3D audio.
We will see how the most widely used software in the world of electronics (Max/MSP, Ableton, Reaper) works to build performance environments, where we will be able to use the most popular plugins for signal processing or create our own processing engine.
MIDI protocol configuration for controllers, OSC, construction of small electronic circuits with the help of Arduino.
We will pay attention to the acoustic and psychoacoustic aspects of sound that are fundamental for the correct diffusion and listening of music.
We will also take a look at the main audio recording techniques.
As I am very passionate about this and have the necessary equipment, we will have the opportunity to see analog synthesis up close through the use of modular synthesizers.
