Diction is the art of making what we sing clear to our listeners. This online Italian Diction course offers a comprehensive introduction to the pronunciation, articulation, and expressive delivery of sung Italian, tailored specifically for singers, voice teachers, and choral directors. Through the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), students will develop a clear understanding of Italian vowels, consonants, diphthongs, and stress patterns commonly found in art song and operatic repertoire. Emphasis will be placed on lyric diction principles, text interpretations, and applying diction skills to standard Italian vocal literature. Course components include video lectures, guided transcription practice, listening and repetition exercises, and individualized feedback. The Tunisian dialect is a living and rich language, different from classical Arabic. It incorporates influences from Berber, French, Italian, and Maltese. 👩‍🏫 I am Tunisian, I live in Tunisia, and I am fluent in French as well as other foreign languages, which allows me to guide you effectively, even if you don't speak Arabic at all. This course focuses on oral practice, simple dialogues, role-playing, and listening to authentic situations.
