I am a teacher and tutor of Italian Language for Foreigners with a Master's degree in teaching Italian as a language for foreigners from the Ca' Foscari University of Venezia and the DITALS certification (Certificate of aptitude in didactics of Italian to foreigners) of the University for Foreigners of Siena (Italy).
The course and my method of teaching the language are based on a communicative approach: the student will learn the language gradually by using it and communicating in a real language and not abstract. To achieve this goal, many activities will be offered using authentic teaching materials such as newspaper articles, pages from novels, movie scenes, song lyrics and many more.

Italian is my mother tongue; I am a graduate of the University of Naples; I taught Italian in several language schools in Belgium.
I work in a very natural way, making the student able to speak simple sentences from the very first class. As a general rule I try to teach my classes in Italian, so that the student gets a very effective "full immersion" from the very beginning (support languages, like Dutch, English or French are used if absolutely necessary).
At the same time I pay attention to accuracy in pronunciation and grammar.
If the student is also interested in Italian literature, we start reading literary texts as soon as fluency in reading allows, according to the student's level and preferences.

Ciao ! Je m’appelle Francesco et je vis en Belgique depuis 2018. Je viens d’une petite ville de Ligurie, dans le nord de l’Italie, et je suis actuellement en train de terminer un doctorat en philosophie. Depuis plusieurs années, je donne des cours particuliers à des personnes qui souhaitent apprendre l'italien pour des raisons professionnelles ou simplement par plaisir. J’ai également donné deux cours dans une école en Flandre : un cours classique axé sur la grammaire et le vocabulaire, ainsi qu’un cours de conversation destiné à des étudiants plus avancés. Selon ton niveau, nous pouvons consacrer une heure à faire connaissance, à parler de nos vies, de nos centres d’intérêt et de nos expériences — bref, de tout ce que tu souhaites. Je peux aussi préparer de courtes vidéos que nous regarderons et discuterons ensemble afin d’améliorer ta compréhension et d’enrichir ton vocabulaire. Et lorsque cela s’avère nécessaire, nous pourrons nous concentrer plus précisément sur la grammaire et la construction des phrases. Nous déciderons ensemble de la meilleure manière d’avancer. I give lessons to convey the input of knowledge through deep study, but not mentally heavy.
