Graduated in singing, pop singing and computer music at the IMEP (Royal Higher Institute of Music and Education), I teach beginners, amateurs, as well as children, especially in a non-profit organization in the Namur region. Firstly, it is essential to put the student at ease and to understand what their desires are in order to be able to help them to flourish musically as much as possible. Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. I’m a sound engineer, music producer, and DJ with a degree from Point Blank Music School (London) and more hours logged at Le Zéro Studio in Brussels than I care to admit. I’ve produced, mixed, and mastered across genres — from rap to electronic to “what the hell is this but it slaps.” I'm also working on my solo project, if you want to check the proof in the pudding ("imyraj" on all platforms). I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. Starting when I was 15 I walked 5 miles to pick up my first electric guitar and tried to learn all the Beatles songs I was listening to. Since then I have grown and developed new musical tastes and played in several recording bands. I am teaching my two children guitar and would love to share my love of music and the guitar withh other people/children. I thought this would be a great way to do it!!!
