As scientists admit, music improves language skills, logical thinking, concentration, and has therapeutical effect on us. For me, playing the violin has proved to be that and much more. It has been connecting all the elements of my life - work, dreams of travelling around the world, my social life, my family. They say it is one of the most difficult instruments, but the truth is, it is difficult only if you make it difficult. My aim is to make my students fascinated by it any time they take it in their hands. In my work I concentrate on the needs and interests of the student and work on technique, music knowledge and joy in playing through games, special excercises and my own 27 years of experience in playing the violin.

I have already gained a lot of experience as a teacher in different countries (9 years) in addition to my professional concert work. As different as my students are, they all have their own individual characteristics. It is important to me that the students always have fun with music.

Clarinetist completed her master's degree with honors and is currently studying for a concert exam.

I completed my clarinet studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Madrid, Spain and at the Centro Superior de Música Katarina Gurska.
I am currently a concert exam student at the Freiburg University of Music in the class of Prof. Kilian Herold and Prof. Anton Hollich.
As an active orchestra musician, I have played with numerous international orchestras, such as: Staatskapelle Dresden, the German Philharmonic Bremen, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Utopia Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Freiburg, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Liceu Barcelona Orchestra, Philharmonie Baden-Baden or Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, among others Leading renowned conductors such as Daniel Harding, Paavo Järvi, Theodor Currentzis, Wladimir Jurowsky and Christian Thielemann, among others.

I come from a beautiful fjord in Norway called Ryfylke and recently moved to Dreiländereck in Ötlingen, a village overlooking the vineyards.

My teaching experience ranges from beginners to advanced. I am a dedicated, passionate teacher who loves to pass on my knowledge of music. I believe the essence of teaching is to encourage the artist within to focus on expression and experience the connection to oneself.

Music for me is all about connecting to your own feelings and inner world, and finding a way to share this with other artists and listeners. I teach violin with the help of imagination as well as great methods. I focus on the joy of discipline and focus rather then being rigid. I guide you to discover yourself, your inner voice that constitutes the artist you are.

Optional focus and guidance - I have experience in trauma healing and addressing blockages that hinder joyful playing. I encourage students to explore their true self as an artist. This approach not only facilitates learning an instrument and understanding music but also helps individuals find their unique voice in life, leading to immense joy!

My name is Clara and I'm a cellist, teacher, and performer in Basel. I'm active in many different genres myself, which is why I can teach a wide variety of things on the cello :) It's important to me to create a learning atmosphere where both student and teacher feel comfortable. Student and teacher should meet as equals, as learning is most effective in a trusting environment.

Where do I come from musically?

It has always been important to me to explore all the possibilities my instrument offers. And to be honest, I'm not finished yet; the cello has so many facets to discover! I've already tried many different styles. I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Music at the Basel Academy of Music in 2025. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Artistic Pedagogy in Freiburg. This gives me a solid foundation for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for unlocking the creativity of my students.

Can you also find me on stage?

Yes, mostly with my jazzy indie-pop band "Partiprivati". We write our own songs and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :)

But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women.

Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance.

And always with solo performances at vernissages.
