Piano lessons for acquiring and/ or improving piano skills
In my class, I teach piano in a way that allows you to make progress on your own. "Don't give a man a fish, instead teach him how to fish," is the idea here. My methods include, besides basics, approaches to expressing your own musicality, stable memorization, practice habits and efficiency, technical ease, focus exercises, body awareness, and stage fright. Hence, I am best suited for intermediate and advanced students that have the desire to either study piano on a collegiate level or make significant improvements for themselves. I would like to add at this point that I have a special affinity for the concert etudes by Frédéric Chopin. However, I am perfectly happy to start with students from the very beginning as well and regardless, I will adjust to my student's needs upon mutual agreement. My free times that I listed as available are a rough estimate, lesson times are normally negotiable.

About Me
My name is Stefan, and I am German-born pianist with an undergraduate and graduate degree from the US (Fort Worth and Minneapolis respectively) and a post-graduate degree from Belgium (Antwerp). I have performed in the US, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Estonia and South Korea. Since my first year (2012) as a music student at a university and much to my own initial surprise, I have taught and coached my piano colleagues. What started out as discussions about fingerings turned eventually into full coaching sessions, which significantly helped them. Through this, I have developed a professionally sufficient and mentally healthy approach to teaching the piano. In most of my lessons, my work is the one of a diagnostician. I attempt to precisely determine what causes issues and then find the best possible solution for the student. I am nurturing, calm, kind, reasonable and understanding, however I am direct. I will do everything I can during the lessons in order to help my students, however, I cannot practice for them. Once the student walks out of the lesson, I am not in charge of what happens. Hence, the student's improvement is just as much dependent on the student's practice habits, as it is on my instruction. I never expect fast results, rather small, steady and continuous improvements, since learning the piano is essentially like learning a language. No infant has learned their mother tongue in less than 3 years and it is better to perceive piano as a skill that comes over time through training rather than something that only "talented" people can do.

Very educational lesson and pleasant to receive lessons from Stefan :)
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Stefan has been an enormous help in orienteering the way I practice and in improving my technique by looking deeply into specific feelings and movements, and by going over the use of the fingers in a balanced and efficient way. I have learnt a great deal and am finding myself more and more comfortable, confident, and in control of my playing eachday. I have never experienced a teacher quite like Stefan, who really targets the lessons for specific learning styles and fine tunes problems. I would wholeheartedly recommend his training to anyone learning piano.
While I've only had my first lesson so far, the initial impression was very positive. Stefan is a very polite, kind, and yet direct person, which made the lesson very pleasant as well as efficient. He asked a lot of questions to ensure he understands my goals as well as my musical preferences. I am quite excited to continue my lessons with him.
I have my own piano studio for children & adults who like to be involved with music. Stefan's lessons are a great professional support for me: for my own study, to bring my piano technique up to speed & to sharpen my understanding of music. He is an excellent and passionate pianist himself and that works inspiring. Stefan has insight into how someone can learn new things, and a very good approach to teach you a good piano technique in a relaxed way. You come to yourself, in your body, in the music and this opens new doors for a very personal experience with music. For me this is the ideal input at the right moment. If you want to work with piano semi-professionally or professionally, this coaching is highly recommended!
I've had a very productive first lesson with Stefan. He is very mindful of your current capabilities and goals. Very excited for the many lessons that will follow.

Regular piano lessons too difficult? Then try piano lessons with me!In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard.
Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano.
At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable?
We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now.
During the lessons I am patient, motivating, encouraging, and complimenting. I'll point out what could be better, and also pay attention to how you can play more easily. And much more. Tailored to your needs and wishes.

Harples, piano lessons, solfège - for all levels and ages - Mechelen, Antwerp, Bonheiden regionThe content of the lessons is adapted to the needs and wishes of each student.
It is possible to follow a combination of music theory and instrument, or only focus on one aspect.
Depending on the student's goal, the level, teaching method and music styles are adjusted and personalized in consultation.
Together we will look at what your learning needs are and which method suits you best.
I am familiar with different styles for both harp and piano, from classical music (baroque, impressionism, classicism, romanticism and contemporary music), to folk music, jazz standards, pop songs or minimalist music.
There is also the option to work from improvisations.
The lessons are suitable for all ages and levels, the personal profile of the student is central.

How do I learn to play the piano as quickly as possible? Private lessons in Antwerp! How do I learn to play the piano as quickly as possible?
A question that I am asked every day. The answer is simple:
- Find a fantastic piano mentor
- Practice regularly - not for long, but efficiently
- Playing the piano is auditory, but also visual
- Note learning lessons are unnecessary in this digital age - use the right apps
My piano lesson focuses on:
- Finger Flexibility / Keyboard Insight / Understanding Harmony
- 50% technique - 50% fun (although technique practice can also be fun!)
Pianistic greetings!

Students of any age are welcome, and I have special experience with beginner and younger students, having given a lot of lessons in piano and music theory.
I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic Dutch.
The individual piano lessons are personalized and tailored to the progress and learning ability of each student. Emphasis is placed on developing good posture and ease of movement at the early stage. Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.
My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Piano lessons for all levels and ages. Relaxed teaching approach!I have over 12 years of teaching experience and I have been working as a Professional Pianist for 7 years now, in 8 different countries (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain etc.) and on Luxury Cruise Ships (Worldwide).
I can show you how to have fun with the piano. If you're a beginner, I can take you right from step one and have you playing familiar songs by the 1st or 2nd lesson. If you already have some experience, I can add to it.
My main goal is helping you achieving your goals and preparing the best lesson for you!
I've been playing and studying piano since age 6 (over 25 years ago). I began with classical music, and later added Ragtime, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, and Chord theory.
I earned a Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance, Classical Music (4 years). I have participated in numerous Piano Masterclasses in Europe and I studied with great pianists. I still learn from different Highly Accomplished Musicians, I believe learning never stops.
I have much to share with my students.
TEACHING STYLE
I am a very patient teacher. I love teaching all ages. I don't teach everyone the same way. I tailor lessons according to individual goals and needs. I insist on the importance of technique and musicality.
I also guide all my students even outside of the teaching time, by responding to all their questions (music theory or technical) and sending them videos.
I teach how to prevent Piano Injuries by focusing on proper technique, posture, and practice habits.
My professional experience includes coaching students of all levels and ages. I successfully prepared the students with their Piano Exams like ABRSM, Trinity Grade, from grade 1-8, with merits and distinctions, and more advanced exams as well (Performance Diplomas).
I teach for the Enjoyment of Music as well. I believe you can learn to play the piano at any age. My oldest student is over 75 years old and my youngest one has 3 years old. They made great progress, I am sure you could do the same.
I've never met anyone who didn't have musical abilities! You can be a serious or a recreational player. The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano.
I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation.
I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons.
CURRICULUM
I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years.
For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs.
Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible.
I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music.
Piano/Keyboard - Alfred , Hal Leonard, Abrsm Grade (1-8), Trinity Grade (1-8), Hanon etc.

(5/5) Pascale from France | In-Person Lessons

Gabriel teaches piano to our son and daughter more than 1 year now. He is clear in his indications, friendly and he really put his heart in what he's doing . He highly recommend him ! (5/5) . Marinela from Romania | Online Lessons
Gabriel’s teaching style is really impressive, the flow and the content of every lessons are very good and he has 4 CAMERAS that shows his face, keyboard and his view on a sideways so any student can visualize the proper posture and a clear view of the movement of his arms and fingers as he teach. My daughter is only 7 years old and as you can imagine asking her to sit for 1 hour to learn piano is quite a challenge but Gabriel handles it pretty well, and he is understanding of my child’s playfulness during the class and he knows also when to remind her to focus. Gabriel has an impressive amount of patience and knowledge about piano that’s why my daughter Ameco is enjoying and learning so much from him. I’m very happy we found him on Preply. And he’s quite flexible on the changes of schedule just give him a heads-up and he’ll cancel or change the schedule. Looking forward to more piano classes with him. I'm an architecture student and an 8th year long piano practiser. I begun taking piano lessons with Gabriel to brush up my skills and and to better understand music before pursuing a graduate degree into a French conservatory. Since the very first piano class with Gabriel, I became very enthusiastic about practicing and due to his patience and clarity to explain musical phrases, theory and interpretation rules, I started to feel and to understand better what I was playing. I warmly recommend Gabriel as a piano tutor to everyone willing to enrich his piano practice! His international experience as a pianist brings to his teaching methods a lot of patience and adaptability. I highly trust Gabriel's teaching process! (5/5) Maria from Romania | In-Person Lessons
