Why choose my courses?
An International Chess Master and experienced coach, I have been teaching for over 23 years to students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to Candidate Masters.
I have delivered nearly 18,000 hours of lessons and supported hundreds of students in their progress.
My goal is not just to show you the best moves, but to teach you to better understand positions, to make better decisions, and to develop a true method of thinking.
Every player is different: therefore I build a personalized training program based on your level, your goals and your learning style.
Why are some players stagnating?
Many work extremely hard: videos, online games, tactical exercises, analyses with an engine...
However, their level remains stuck.
The reason is often simple: they work a lot, but without a real method, and repeat the same mistakes without even realizing it.
My role is to precisely target your weaknesses in order to help you progress faster and more effectively.
A method tailored to your profile
The first sessions allow us to analyze your games, your way of thinking, your strengths and your recurring mistakes.
We then work on the essential areas:
• Openings and game plans
• tactics and calculation
• strategy
• finals
• analysis of parts
• preparation for competitions
• Time management, self-confidence and mental preparation.
I always prioritize understanding over rote learning in order to build solid and lasting progress.
Concrete results
Some examples:
➤ A 16-year-old student went from 1650 to 2000 Elo after about fifteen hours of lessons.
➤ A 23-year-old player went from 1600 to 2380 on Chess.com in 15-minute games after a year of lessons at a rate of 3 hours per week.
➤ A young player went from 1600 to 2000 FIDE Elo in two years and became Paris Champion in his category.
➤ An unrated student achieved a first FIDE rating of over 1950 Elo after a year of work.
Of course, results always depend on each student's personal investment and consistency.
Who are the courses for?
I accompany:
• children from 5 years old
• teenagers
• adult beginners
• club players
• the competitors
• Chess.com and Lichess players wishing to take their game to the next level.
Children's classes
I have extensive experience with young players.
My approach is tailored to their age: children progress through play, exercises and educational activities, while developing concentration, logic and self-confidence, in an approach where the joy of playing remains essential.
Videoconference classes
Online courses are very effective today.
Thanks to screen sharing and digital tools, we can analyze your games, study positions and build a truly personalized training program.
After each session, I will send you the important elements covered so that you can continue your training.

- If you are tired of only finding highly qualified teachers while your daughter is only in 5th grade...

★ I am versatile:
I can help your children with French and Maths. I can also help them in English and Spanish but I should point out that I am not trilingual, I provide academic support.
★ I'm listening:
A prior discussion with parents is essential in order to know precisely the academic problems of their children and to best guide my lessons. I also like to ask the children afterwards what their difficulties are to see if parents and children have the same perception. When the assessment is established, I question the students on what they are studying in class with a view to following the program while trying to review specific points that have not been assimilated.
I mainly use their courses and their textbooks so that my students keep their bearings, but if necessary I use the material I have.
★ I am a translator of incomprehensible courses:
Indeed, the lessons are completely incomprehensible for most students. They are formalized in a way that no teenager can understand them. All students have the potential to become good as long as the concepts are well explained.
My mission is therefore to simplify them and transcribe them into clear language.
★ I am methodical:
I have improved my working methods through my 8 years of teaching. They are based on understanding and not on rote learning. The students must be able to re-explain their lesson to me and thus demonstrate that it has been completely understood. I give exercises of increasing difficulty and which allow optimal progression. I can also give exercises to do for the next session.
When there is time left, I even take the opportunity to move forward with the program so that they get the best possible grades!
★ I am a coach with a psychological approach:
During my adolescence, I was school phobic and that's why I do everything to help my students feel better at school.
I'm not just here to help them with their homework. All my lessons are personalized because each student is different. I like to know how they perceive the subject, if they appreciate their teachers in class, the job they want to do later...
I make a point of letting my students find the solutions to the exercises on their own so that they are proud of themselves. In addition, I will encourage them to develop a taste for effort (pay attention to their spelling and write neatly) in order to systematically produce quality work and gain self-esteem. I restore confidence in my students because it is important that they are happy and motivated to be effective in their work.
★ I do my job with pleasure:
I like to pass on knowledge and see my students progress. Teaching is for me a real pleasure and not a nutritional need. I therefore offer real supervision throughout the school year.
Observation, listening, work and encouragement are the 4 pillars of my teaching.
The goal is for them to be autonomous and independent at the end of the school year!
My lessons boil down to this: good humor and efficiency!
★ Hours:
- Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
★ Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions because I am very responsive (about 1 hour). We can therefore organize a first lesson quickly.
See you soon !
