About Me

My name is Victor (*1997) and I am a trombonist, composer, and teacher. I trained at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), where I earned a master's degree in classical trombone pedagogy in 2023 and a master's degree in jazz performance in 2025.

Passionate about the diversity of musical languages, I explore classical and jazz music, contemporary music, and improvisation. This versatility has led me to perform with various ensembles such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Zurich Jazz Orchestra, the Manon Mullener 5tet, Scent of Lilac, and the Orchestre National de Jazz.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to receive several awards, including the Léopold Bellan Prize, the Innova Trombone Prize, the Trombone Jazz Festival Zurich Prize, and the Paléo Festival. In 2023, I was a recipient of the Leenaards Foundation and the Migros Double Mentorship Program alongside trombonist Nils Wogram.

I am also behind musical and transdisciplinary projects like Slide Collective or MUNDUS, for which I compose and seek to weave links between disciplines, forms, and imaginations.

Today, I divide my time between performing, creating, and teaching. I teach jazz trombone at the Fribourg Conservatory in Switzerland.

For beginners, I give introductory lessons to music through piano, guitar, small percussion and singing.

I teach for over 10 years and I practice trombone in various orchestras and groups (symphonic, jazz, electro, reggae, ska, rock, funk, pop, French song, carnival, zouk, compass, biguine)

My musical background

After having started the classical trombone at the age of 8 at the conservatory of the center of Paris and at the conservatory Hector Berlioz (Xeme) with Jean Rafard as teacher, Philippe Defurne I studied jazz and improvisation at the Xeme conservatory with Pascal Gaubert and Daniel Casimir as well as with Glenn Ferris at the Master Class at the CRR in Paris.

Obtaining the first prize of the CRR of Paris in the class of Jacques Mauger and the CFEM of Musical Training in the classes of JP Despax and M Labrousse.
I also studied ancient music (saqueboute) with JJ Herbin and musical writing in the class of JM Bardez.
