Before instrumental or vocal technique, the quality of listening, and the development of relative ear are the keys to being able to play music. Not moving your fingers mechanically on the instrument, but playing literally, having fun with the notes, rhythms and harmonies. During my years at the conservatory, as a child, I experienced this void of meaning that young students can feel in music theory classes. At the time I was a diligent student but quite mediocre in music theory. I simply didn't understand the method that was dictated to us in Musical Training class. This actually favors children with perfect pitch, and those who do not have it remain behind. What a pity ! But I was passionate and so I looked for other ways to develop my listening skills. I studied Indian music, I followed the teachings of American, German, Swiss teachers... And finally by practicing ancient music, I discovered ancient music theory. The latter is the one which provides the real bases from which all Western music arises. Counterpoint and harmony, everything became clearer to me.Calm and patient by nature, I would be delighted to help you or your child to appreciate music theory thanks to a personalized creative and playful approach.

About Me
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Having grown up in a family of artists, since I was very young, I have been passionate about music of all styles, all continents and all eras. Thanks to my saxophonist and composer father, I was able to develop free improvisation skills that you don't learn at the conservatory. So I was able to see the two "sides" of learning: the theoretical bases of the conservatory in classical guitar on the one hand, and the ability to improvise, to play with energy and groove within rock and funk groups, world music. In 2015, I discovered early music and developed a passion for the lute and the theorbo.Currently graduated from the most prestigious school of early music: the Schola Cantorum in Basel (Switzerland) I am currently finishing my Masters in Versailles / Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. I play in the baroque music ensemble Il Groviglio with which we recorded two discs and performed twice live on France Musique (see links below). I also play in many baroque music ensembles in France, Italy and Switzerland.
Webcam lessons possible in the event of confinement, but I much prefer human contact without this mediation.

Student offers violin, viola and music theory lessons.
Hello,
I am currently studying at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt. I offer violin, viola and music theory lessons for students of all ages, and all levels (beginners or not).
I can follow an already existing method, give "support" courses to a student already in a school or even follow my own method, which I developed during these 4 years of teaching. The lessons can take place at my home, at the student's home or even remotely (Skype or other). I obviously adapt to each student profile, these requests and desires. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
Cello and music theory lessons for all levels!
I offer private cello lessons, at your home or mine! I really like teaching, I have had cello students (music theory and tutoring as well) for 6 years and my contact with them is always very good. I am passionate about teaching, about how different personalities work and the issues specific to them and I am therefore always looking for new ways to teach them this beautiful instrument. I obtained my DEM (diploma of musical studies) in June 2024, which attests to my technical and musical level; this is why I am able to help students get started as well as help others who are already learning, up to the 3rd cycle of the conservatory for example. Contact me to find out more, especially about the price!
Violin lessons, violin-viola and musical training
Hello !
I offer my services for violin, violin-viola and music theory lessons for all ages and all levels.
My name is Anne, I am a confirmed musician, holder of the Intervening Musician diploma and the violin-viola medal from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille.
Passionate about alternative pedagogies, I consider the teaching of music from the angle "music = pleasure" and therefore use the tools that I have acquired during my various training courses: O Passo pedagogy and Dalcroze pedagogy , among others.
During my professional experience, I worked in different employment settings and with different audiences: Music Conservatories, Private lessons, Primary and nursery schools and more recently within the DEMOS project (Project of music education with a social vocation ) of the Philharmonie de Paris.
You want to learn music, take back an instrument left in the cupboard for too long or you need a little help to improve your skills, do not hesitate to call me or send me a message.
I teach at my home and travel to the capital.
Musically,
Anne
Voice Lessons for Young/Inexperienced Singers - Classically Focused
These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation.
If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed).
*My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

Western music theory is a great tool for musicians, songwriters, and composers.

In this class, you will decide what you want to learn, and I will give you lessons and homework based on that, your skill level, and your preferred genre group (western classical or contemporary).

Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisation
Hey!
My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels.
For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that!
Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;)
I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example.
The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible.
See you soon!
Richard
PS: my specified hours are a guideline, if this does not suit you, you can certainly send us a message and we will try to arrange something :)
Oud and oriental Arabic singing lessons with an experienced teacher
Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years.
My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies.
Please feel free to leave me a message, I will reply as soon as possible.
Piano lessons for all levels and ages
A conservatory graduate and music theory teacher gives piano lessons.
All styles combined (classical, rock, accompaniment piano, etc.)
Method suitable for the little ones 4-5 years old
First course without obligation.
Professional jazz musician teaching jazz, blues, funk, R&B, pop, rock, latin and classical piano.
I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard.
My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student.
Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you.
A bit about me:
Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.
Getting to Grips with Music Theory is simpler than you think!
The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages.
Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing. Certain aspects can also lead to additional practical skills such as improvisation which can be very useful as well as very enjoyable.
Whether you want to understand a particular aspect of music theory or If you struggle with music theory in general, then this is the class for you - why not give it a try?
