Hello, my name is Lucie and I would be delighted to help you learn English, either from scratch or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving your knowledge. I always structure my classes around real-life themes (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, how to shop, how to go to the doctor, talk at work, etc). We will see grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation together. If you are intermediate, we will also do courses on texts. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice. Hello! I have been teaching English for five years, to adults and children alike. I offer classes that are uniquely adapted to the students needs and their interests. My aim is to build my student's confidence, by following their line of inquiry — engaging in a rich, and increasingly challenging dialogue with the individual. My classes are for adults and professionals, who want to: . Develop and widen their vocabulary; . Need help preparing for an exam, a paper or an important interview; . Gain confidence in spoken English; . Attain a fluent level of spoken and written English We will begin by identifying the student's greatest interests — those subjects they are most curious about and topics that stimulate them. These topics will be "stimulators", fueling conversations and language activities that the student themselves will eventually lead. Then, we will identify the student's biggest worries regarding the English language — where they are confused, or tend to make mistakes. This will form the workshop part of the lesson, focused on overcoming tricky grammatical mistakes and revising more complex linguistic and phonetic errors. After 8 years of teaching I have found this tailored approach to be, by far, the most effective. I look forward to collaborating with you soon!

I am currently teaching German on a one on one base through individualized online teaching via zoom or any other online platform. I teach German grammar as well as conversational German and German for business and/or research. I not only speak German as my mother tongue, but I also have excellent English skills and have taught adults and children in Japan, the USA and France. While living in Japan, I taught English to biologists of a biotech-company. For this purpose, I prepared current newspaper articles corresponding to the interests of the students and the teaching objectives for the classes. In class, the students and I used these articles to study the language, discuss the vocabulary and grammar as well as the language style used. In New York, I did not teach a language, but fashion design at the University (FIT Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC) for several years. All classes were taught in English with the student body consisting of international students, which required detailed preparation of the class. At the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI), also in NYC, I taught fashion design and creation to students grade 9 - 12. Here too, the lessons were exclusively taught in English. For my teachings, I developed daily detailed lesson plans to not only make sure that the predetermined class goals were easily reached, but also to ensure that the class content was tailored to the students' needs and that a positive learning climate was promoted.

I have experience teaching children, as I am currently an Au Pair, teaching them English. A little bit about me, I have completed the official IELTS exam where I got grade C1 (advanced). I am a 19-year-old student who had my scientific baccalaureate with honors. I then joined an engineering school before enrolling in a double degree in mathematics and computer science.
