I'm offering online violin lessons to students of all ages and levels. We can customize your own lesson schedule to address your particular needs and interests. In regular lessons, we will work on the technical framework from the Franco-Belgian School and utilize it to create music: basic elements of playing such as posture/mechanics, intonation, shifting, bow strokes, bow distribution, vibrato, variety of sound, rhythm, phrasing, and artistic interpretation.

I am a student at The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, in Houston TX. My main musical mentors have roots stemming from the great Joseph Gingold and Ivan Galamian. I have taught students for a couple of years now, specializing in ages 10 to 16. I am also accepting adult students of any age. I can offer regular weekly or customized lessons, as well as individual sessions to address specific issues.

Education

Amir Kadamani was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 2000. He began his musical studies at the age of 8 with Martha Olave and continued his studies with Luis Martín Niño and Richard Young. Currently, Amir is a sophomore at The Shepherd School of Music under the tutelage of Kathleen Winkler.

In 2011, he began his pre-university studies at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and in 2013 he was a finalist for the Soloists Contest with the Javerianas Orchestras, which he won in 2014. Amir has also received an honorable mention in the eighth version of the Young Soloists Contest of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Cali, of which he was the winner in 2017.

In 2015, he participated in the advanced category of the 10th edition of the Femusc music festival in Brazil, being assistant concertmaster of the festival orchestra and second violin leader of the Serioso Project. In that same year he received the prestigious Verbier-YOA scholarship from the Americas to be part of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra in Verbier, Switzerland (of which he was also a member in 2016) and was invited by the teacher Richard Young (Vermeer Quartet, violist) to take an intensive course in string quartet performance in Lexington, New York.

In 2017 he was a fellow of the Young Philharmonic of Colombia, with which he gave concerts in several of the most important festivals and stages in Colombia and Europe; namely, the Young Euro Classic, the Styriarte, the Rheingau Musik Festival, among others. Also, he was provided with a full scholarship to participate in the Young Artist Summer Program of the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and to be the concertmaster of the festival orchestra.

In 2018, Amir has been awarded a full scholarship to participate in the Advanced String Quartet Program of the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, USA. At Interlochen, Amir was concertmaster of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In 2019, Amir was invited to attend the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy on a full scholarship.

He has received classes from Ole Bohn (Music Conservatory of Sydney), Simon Bernardini (Berlin Philharmonic), Leon Spierer (Concertino, Berlin Philharmonic), Richard Roberts (Concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra) , David Ballesteros (London Symphony Orchestra), Rebecca Harris (Tempesta di Mare Orchestra), Desirée Ruhstrat (Trio Lincoln), Ani Kavafian (Yale University), Steven Copes (Concertino, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra), Roberto Díaz (Director , Curtis Institute of Music), Herbert Greenberg (Concertino, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra & Peabody Institute), Dmitri Berlinsky (soloist, professor at Michigan State University), Dennis Kim (Concertino, Pacific Symphony), etc.

Additionally, he was a speaker for the TEDx @ GimnasioCampestre, in which he broke down the Eighth Quartet by Dmitri Shostakovich in a poetic format and with musical interventions.

Moreover, Amir was violinist and violist of the Botero Quartet, which under the direction of Maestro Richard Young.

In this violin course you will learn a foundation in learning one of the most rewarding instruments in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.

My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music.
No experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music.

The most important matter that I could write here about is my passion to teach. I've been teaching already for more than 10 years, from kids to adults. I'm a classical pianist, but I am opened to other musical styles. What I want you to get from your lessons with me, is not only a huge knowledge of theorical stuff or a great technique, I would like to show you my musical world, the imagination and inner exploration that is required to understand and to love music in a whole new level. Once you have found them, it will be very hard to quit playing!

Hello !

My name is Camille, I'm 26 years old and I grew up in France, where I completed my violin training with soloist Marie Cantagrill. I then obtained my Bachelor's degree at the University of Arts in Graz (Austria), and I also studied for a year at the Academy of Music in Krakow with Professor Wojciech Koprowski.

Currently, I am continuing my studies in violin pedagogy (IGP – instrumental and vocal pedagogy) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).

Thanks to my experience with teachers from various countries, I have acquired a lot of knowledge in pedagogy, study techniques, musicality, etc., which I would love to share with you!

For me, it is essential to cultivate the pleasure of playing and to work on technique in the service of music.

Courses can be given in French, German or English, depending on your preferences.
