In 2001, I completed a BA Honours degree in Communication through UNISA. I furthered my academic qualifications by obtaining a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Pretoria in 2008, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from UNISA in 2016. In 1984, I was appointed resident pianist at the Performing Arts Council of the Transvaal (PACT), where I worked closely with the ballet department and regularly performed with orchestras and ensembles. Since 2004, I have been deeply involved in music education, teaching piano, music as a subject, music theory, and harmony. I have earned multiple certificates and awards in recognition of my outstanding contribution to music theory education. I have been teaching music as a subject from grade 8 – 12. My professional appointments have also included serving as a matric moderator and marker for the Department of Education.
