Arina - Leuven30€
Trusted teacher: - As for the lessons. The lessons are about mathematics of secondary education. More specifically, I will assist in the theoretical processing of mathematics as its application (the exercises). In addition, I will provide additional study material (aids, schedules, ...) if necessary. - Way of handling. I would like to have an overview in advance of the study material, the tests or tasks in which certain problems are visible, .... This way I can prepare the lessons in advance and focus on the problem. In addition, I can estimate / determine his / her level in this way. I try, in a simple way and for the student in an understandable way, to explain the course in a different way so that this is clear to the student. Afterwards I like to enjoy the results. - Why am I doing this? Math is a passion of mine and for me there is nothing more fun than sharing my passion. Unfortunately, my love for mathematics is not part of my studies and that is why I like to do this as a hobby and as an extra income. Of course I work professionally. - Experiences? I love nothing more than tutoring my fellow students about the subject matter. This is appreciated by them. Of course I also have experience in tutoring mathematics of both primary and secondary education. - Who am I? My name is Arina and I'm a law student. I'm 26 years old and live and rent a room in Leuven. I'm very approachable, enthusiastic, and open. In my experience, this often helps strengthen my bond with the young person, making them feel comfortable around me. They feel comfortable asking any questions they have. They feel comfortable calling or texting me if they're stuck on an exercise. Even later, when I'm no longer tutoring them, they feel comfortable asking questions if they get stuck. In secondary school itself, I had a less good experience in the first and second year of secondary school in the subject of mathematics. I found it a very interesting subject, but I just couldn't grasp it. Throughout those years, I had the same teacher, who didn't teach me the material in a way that was right for me. After receiving tutoring (forced by my parents), my interest in mathematics grew so much that I studied economics and mathematics for the next few years. My love for mathematics just won't go away... Because I no longer received any mathematics lessons in my further education, I chose to fill this gap by giving private lessons myself.

Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Kate and I am an Australian who is has been living in France since 2019. I am fluent in French and English is obviously my native language. My educational background: I hold a Masters of Art Therapy from The University of Paris with a major in music therapy, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with majors in Music and Psychology, and a Diploma of Languages with a major in French from The University of Queensland, Australia. As a native English speaker my goal is to instill confidence in my students (of all ages) of their ability to speak, use, and understand English. I use a variety of interactive methods including songs, actions, rhymes, books, and music. I am firm believer in 'trying' and as such I will encourage my students to use their English, regardless of how many faults they may make. It is only from making errors, that we can improve! Additionally, I am happy to work on assignments, test preparation, or any other English homework which may need completing. I can provide homework, or extension tasks as required. My lessons are largely immersion based, and as such I will avoid the use of French, unless an explanation is needed for clarity. I am happy to adapt to the needs of my students. I have been teaching English in France since 2019. Prior to arriving in France, I tutored for over two years in Australia, aiding students from ages 8 to 17 with a variety of subjects including English, maths, science, music, and french. I have extensive experience with children: I have been a scout leader since 2020 in Marseille, and have been involved with Girl Guides Australia since I was 7 years old, eventually leading a group of 10-17 year olds for over 4 years before arriving to France. I am located near Metro Prado, but can travel throughout Marseille. Depending on distance, travel costs may be in addition to class fees. I have a valid working with children background check in Australia, and hold first aid qualifications in France (PSC1).

It is very difficult if not impossible to get my son speak highly of a teacher who makes him do more reading and writing. :) Merve proved to be an exception. She has a very positive attitude, knows how to set the balance between hard work and fun work, establishes a very good dialogue with kids. We are lucky to have found her.
