With 20 years of experience as a guitar teacher and as a professional musician, I like to pass on my passion for the guitar to others.
I teach at all levels; from beginners to advanced, and specialize in jazz, flamenco, classical, bossa nova, rock, funk and metal.
On the basis of the level of the student I make a program that suits them, including learning songs with chords, playing riffs, rhythm theory, speed, improvisation, specific techniques, transcription of solos.
I also teach entire bands, using control so that they can play well together.

Music Theory for all levels:

In this lesson you will get deep knowledge and understanding of music. Either you are a complete beginner, an instrumental performer, or you want to prepare for entrance exams into a music conservatories, these classes are perfect for you. Together we are going to read, listen and analyze music and work towards understanding it in a musical, structural and compositional level. I am a professional classical guitarist and lutenist with many years of teaching experience. I tailor lessons to my students' needs and interests. I am Julia, a classical violin player. I studied at Codarts university in Rotterdam and played in an Orchestral Academy for a year in Spain. I discovered I enjoy teching very much while following a minor in education during my bachelor. Throughout the course I learned pedagogy, didactics and methodology, and worked with students of different ages and levels of experience. I love teaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and challenges me to be more imaginative and flexible.

The lessons are tailor-made. This means that the goals are going to be adapted to YOUR wishes taking in account previous experience, expectations and musical taste. Even though I have a classical training, I am open to work with different styles. I teach children from 5 years old onwards and adults.

I am currently studying for music teacher at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and with experience in piano and bassoon teaching.
