With me you will learn French in a fun, interactive way, with courses customised to your level and goals. All aspects of the language can be covered : speaking, understanding, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Lessons are pretty structured but very flexible to adapt to your progression and your particular goals.

Highly trained in memory techniques and learning strategies, I can also provide easy-to-mermorise contents as well as memorisation and learning advice.

I am very busy so I teach mainly online to save time in transport. However I am happy to teach in your place providing it remains around my area (Marchmont) or with an additional fee if it is outside of this area. I can also teach in my place during the day (but not in evening time).

About Me

My name is Marina, I am a native French, I have been living in Edinburgh for 6 years and I have been teaching French for 3 years. Passionate with teaching and languages, I also have a background in psychology and arts' history and I have been trained at a high level in memory and focus techniques.

I am friendly, patient, and very attentive to your personal progress. I always make sure you understand a point before moving on to the next one. There will be regular assessments to measure your progress and to ensure that you can effectively use the skills you have learned. Besides, I make a point of designing lessons according to your favourite topics and hobbies in addition to the necessary contents, as I believe one learns better when loving it!

I have been an examiner for AQA and am familiar with both AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A-level specifications, having taught the Edexcel spec before. I have tutored French to children (beginner to bilingual) and adults. The planning and delivery of my classes will be dependent on the individual needs of my students.

I have also worked as a primary school teacher and am an excellent teacher of primary school maths and English.

If interested, French/Russian literature is studied by authors such as Baudelaire/Tolstoy and Maupassant/Turgenev. We could also converse about French/Russian history, culture and the country's traditions.
