About Me
I teach Mathematics courses at all levels, and in particular for engineering students: Differential Equations, Calculus and Numerical Methods for undergraduate students, Numerical Analysis and Operations Research for graduate students.
I consider that there are three fundamental bases in the teaching and learning process: knowledge, vocation and strategy.
Mathematics courses require mastery of concepts and their application to real situations. I firmly believe that the cornerstone of teaching and learning is the search for knowledge, and I consider that to be my mission as a teacher.
But to learn and teach it is necessary to have a vocation. Feeling that you can contribute to improving the world through the personal growth of students. This involves helping them find their own path, explore their potential and develop progressively at different levels of study. The teacher also learns from the student and keeping this clear helps maintain an environment open to cooperation and creativity.
But knowledge and vocation are not achieved if you do not know what you really want. The training of students better prepared to face any type of situation in the real world. To achieve this, a clear strategy is required, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each student and seeing what factors could become opportunities and threats for individual learning. I use many tools to make my students learn, use of MATLAB, visual thinking, use of multiple intelligences, project-based learning. However, if I couldn't identify where they really are and where they want to go, I won't be able to draw up an adequate strategy.
For this reason, I try to get to know each of my students in depth, and that they know me, to adapt the way in which I am going to approach the teaching and learning process.
