My name is Vasileios, also known as Billy, and I am a
master's student in the Jazz Department at HKU in Applied Science. I am
fresh in town, currently pursuing to finish my studies while bringing a rich
background in music and education. With nearly 15 years of experience in
classical harmony, counterpoint, jazz harmony, and performance, I hold a
Bachelor's degree in Jazz Music from the Liszt Ferenc Academy in
Budapest, Hungary.
My primary instrument is the drums, but I am also
proficient in jazz piano, vibraphone, and body percussion

In addition to my musical background, I am experienced in Konnakol, the
classical Indian rhythmic language, which has further deepened my
understanding of rhythm and enhanced my teaching techniques.
Over the years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in teaching, with over 5 years of
experience in rhythm lab education, body percussion, and leading jam and
improvisation workshops for students of all ages. My approach combines
technical skills with creative expression, fostering an open and engaging
learning environment.

I am a positive, calm, open ,focused, and disciplined person who enjoys
engaging with students and clients alike. I speak fluent English, Greek, a
have a good knowledge of Hungarian, and I just started Dutch
lessons to better integrate into the local culture.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my musical expertise and
teaching experience to all of you are interested, I believe my diverse skill set and
passion for music education will allow me to make a meaningful impact with any of you.

About Me

Hi!
My name is Billy and I’m a professional musician and music teacher based in Utrecht. I teach drums, piano, handpan and music theory to students of all ages and levels.

My teaching style is supportive, practical and student-centered. I believe learning music should be inspiring and enjoyable, not stressful. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for exams, or an advanced player wanting to improve technique, groove or musical understanding, I adapt each lesson to your personal goals and learning style.

I like to combine solid technical foundations with creativity, improvisation and real musical application. For me, building confidence and musical expression is just as important as developing skills.

I enjoy working with motivated students who are curious and open to learning, but I also love helping beginners take their very first steps in music. My goal is always to create a relaxed and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable to grow.

Education

– Bachelor Degree in Music Performance (Drums / Percussion)
– Specialized training in Piano, Music Theory and Contemporary Music Studies
– Advanced rhythm studies including Konnakol, foundations of non-Western rhythmic systems, and Indian Classical Music traditions
– Extensive training and performance experience on Handpan, with a strong focus on technique, musical expression and composition
– Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance
– Ongoing professional development through international workshops, masterclasses, music albums and live performance projects
