“His willingness to work hard combined with his talent makes Miguel a very serious and intelligent pianist”. This is how Katia Veekmans describes the Portuguese pianist who started his studies in music at the age of 18. He performs solo and with various chamber music groups in venues through Portugal, Spain, Holland, and Belgium. Concerned about education and social projects, he is the pianist and composer of the community music project “Música100Idade”, founded in Portugal, and currently acting in Belgium and Holland under the name SoundBox MusicLab.
At the present time, he is doing a master degree in Piano Performance at the Conservatorium Maastricht, in Katia Veekmans’ class.
Previously, Miguel did his bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espectáculo (ESMAE) in Porto, and his master’s in education in Aveiro University, where he researched and developed strategies concerning memorization in piano with children and teenage students. Meanwhile, he taught piano for several years in different schools spread throughout the northern region of Portugal, working with babies, toddlers and children and adults.
In the words of the pianist Constantin Sandu, “his main quality is the ability to strive for learning and improvement. In this aspect, he was one of the best examples among ESMAE students, having achieved remarkable progress during his studies at this school.”

This course is intended for beginners wishing to learn the piano, whether they are children or adults.
Trained at the Gretry Academy, I offer adapted piano lessons using different learning methods, including scores and theory (music theory).

For complete beginners, it can be above all a musical awakening (notions, hand coordination, theory, ...)
I have a THOMANN digital piano at home which is available to learners.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, classes will begin in mid-September.

I've been carrying my cello around since I was 6 years old. I started playing at the conservatory in Bastia, Corsica. At 18, I set off to discover the world of music: Nice, Paris, then Rennes, before finally settling in Liège, Belgium. Having fallen in love with my new home, I moved there and developed my musical and educational projects.

Fascinated by the interconnectedness of the arts, I regularly work with theatre, circus, musical comedy, puppetry, etc.

With a degree in pedagogy, passionate about teaching and to follow my pedagogical utopia, I created the MagnAttitude asbl structure which has more than 40 students.

The goal is to support you in your project, whatever it may be. It's about adapting and tailoring to each individual's desires, while passing on the expertise of playing the cello.

My course is aimed at amateur and professional pianists wishing to deepen their technique in terms of improvisation, understanding of harmony and accompaniment; I also offer "coaching" sessions in the context of assistance with creation (composition, interpretation etc.), I insist on the fact that it is not essential to have an in-depth knowledge of music theory!
As long as the motivation and desire are there, the rest will follow!

Are you looking for a teacher to take clarinet lessons? You can contact me for this. I teach all ages, children, young people and adults. The lesson is completely tailored to the student, and is mainly practically oriented.

I already have experience in teaching clarinet.
Nut leather is - if necessary - integrated during the clarinet lesson.

With younger children who are not (yet) following music theory, I work with the ukulila method, among other things. We work playfully and creatively here.

If you already have a clarinet, you can bring it with you for the first lesson.
If you don't have a clarinet yet, we will look together for a suitable clarinet to play on.

in the course of conversations, I have often heard this sentence which puts me off. I am Thomas, a pianist student at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liège where I am finishing my course. I started music far from Theory and solfège classes, by a method of my own, on which I worked quite a bit, in order to offer it to my students (I come from France where I had been teaching for 6 years alongside my studies).

° PIANO pour débutants ayant au moins UN AN de solfège et de piano à leur actifs.

Apprendre un accompagnement très basique pour pouvoir accompagner n'importe quelle mélodie avec le "secret" harmonique des trois accords fondamentaux - tonique, sous-dominante, dominante; ce qu'on appelle le I IV V I aussi le I VI II V I charpente de beaucoup de morceaux de jazz chansons françaises ou de groupes de musiques pop;

°° Le cours est traditionnel si vous le désirez et / ou si vous possédez déjà une base de piano / solfège. Le cours peut être de vivre l'expérience de l'immersion (***) totale si cela vous tente ? L'immersion, c'est l'apprentissage direct ainsi que simultané du solfège (alphabet musical), de la théorie de la musique (règles), du contact physique avec l'instrument : accès intuitif cadré par mes soins de manière à développer chez l'élève un apprentissage rapide mais solide autant qu'un plaisir direct. *** Immersion comme on apprend une langue "sur le tas" dans un pays étranger sans en rien connaître du tout : la survie induisant le fait que l'apprentissage est beaucoup plus rapide...

En immersion l'élève est placé devant le piano dès la 1ère leçon et ne subit pas la torture des listes d'attente des académies de musique belges - un rien défectueuses (tueuse{s} !) ainsi que décourageante (rageante !) sur ce coup-là.

STRUCTURE DU COURS - quelques règles incontournables :

- Point n° 1. Sauf situation humaine grave ou imprévue et ingérable pour l'élève, pour des raisons d'organisation personnelle de ma gestion du temps --- je dois être prévenu impérativement AU MINIMUM 24 heures à l'avance --- en cas d'absence au cours et non le matin le lendemain ou à la dernière minute;

- Point n° 2. Je ne rattrape pas sur mon horaire les arrivées tardives.

- Point n° 3 FRÉQUENCE DES LEÇONS - les élèves qui désirent venir à la quinzaine ou au mois ne sont pas acceptés dans le cadre d'un jour et d'une heure fixe car ils bloquent 4 semaines de cours - les élèves à la quinzaine et au mois sont acceptés et bienvenus mais uniquement dans le cadre d'un horaire "à la carte".

- Point 3 bis FRÉQUENCE DES LEÇONS ENCORE - les élèves qui ouvrent un cours à la semaine et qui, ensuite, rétrogradent leur cours et, qui désirent ne plus venir qu'à la quinzaine ne bénéficient plus automatiquement d'un horaire régulier car ils me bloquent 4 semaines. Ils seront replacés automatiquement à la carte comme tous les élèves à la quinzaine.

Adultes sans limite d'âge. Mon élève la plus âgée avait 72 ans.

Adolescents acceptés à partir de 15 ans.

Enfants de 3 à 14 ans non acceptés.

Actuellement, les cours se donnent du mardi au vendredi de 10H00 à 18H00.
Le vendredi la dernière leçon est à 18h00.

Je donne cours tous les jours fériés pour ceux qui ne veulent pas perdre une leçon - sauf contre-ordre.

1° Apprentissage du piano:

Ma méthodologie est adaptée selon l’élève et ses objectifs musicaux.

De par mon expérience et mes années d'études à l'académie de musique, j'aime travailler avec des manuels de piano tout en proposant, en parallèle, des outils techniques et personnels qui permettront à l’élève d’évoluer. Selon moi, quel que soit l'objectif, il est important d'acquérir une base technique afin d'avoir une certaine aisance de lecture musicale (différenciation des articulations: legato/staccato, souplesse et fluidité du mouvement du poignet lors de la pratique d'une gamme, compréhension des nuances indiquées sur une partition : piano/mezzo forte/forte). Tous ces aspects enrichiront la manière de jouer une pièce musicale, peu importe son genre ou son époque.

L’objectif du cours est d'apprendre tout en s'amusant et surtout, sans stress !

2° Apprentissage du solfège (formation musicale):

Ma méthodologie est également adaptée selon l'élève et ses objectifs musicaux.

Etant professeure de formation musicale depuis l'an passé, mon but est de permettre à l'élève d'évoluer à son rythme afin qu'il soit progressivement autonome.

Le cours s'articule autour de différents paramètres tels que :

1) L' audition : écouter une série de notes ou de rythmes et être capable de les retranscrire, de les écrire. Comprendre et visualiser le mouvement général d'un son (est-ce que mon oreille perçoit que le son monte, descend ou reste le même?). Percevoir la différence entre un accord Majeur ou mineur (quels sont mes ressentis?).

2) La lecture de rythmes et de notes : savoir reconnaitre les rythmes en les disant, en les frappant et surtout, en les ressentant. Savoir reconnaitre les notes et donc, leur emplacement sur la portée en les lisant.

3) La théorie musicale: comprendre un rythme de manière théorique (ses composantes), la formation d'une gamme avec ses tons et demi-tons, les intervalles (l'espace qu'il y a entre deux notes), les modes (Majeur et mineur), les accords, etc.

4) L'aspect sensoriel : ressentir un rythme en le vivant, en l'expérimentant au sein d'une chanson, en marchant ou en frappant la pulsation.

5) Le chant / les lectures chantées : être capable de reproduire un échauffement vocal (en partant ensuite de différentes notes). Entendre que la note chantée est identique à celle qui est donnée au piano ou transmise vocalement. Développer la formation de l'oreille par le chant. Savoir chanter une lecture comprenant les notes et les rythmes travaillés.

L'objectif du cours est d'apprendre et d'évoluer sans aucun stress en travaillant un maximum de paramètres ! La convivialité et la bienveillance sont deux qualités auxquelles je porte le plus d'attention.

Les cours de piano et de solfège ont une durée d'une heure. Cela permet de varier les activités (ou les pièces pour l'instrument).
