Visual arts for everyone~ Drawing and painting lessons

Whether you want to pursue visual arts professionally or not, it is one of the best ways to express yourself creatively.

This course will teach you how to develop drawing and painting skills in various art mediums, along with references from art history so that you can freely express yourself.
The structure of the lessons can be modified according to the needs of the student, and can also included visits to museums and contemporary art exhibitions. With younger children or amateurs, we can delve into crafts, collage, sketching and doodling and for people with some experience we can think about more advanced painting compositions, even installation and basics of stop-motion animation.

However, it is not at all necessary to have a lot of knowledge of the visual arts, only curiosity and interest.

About Me

I’m a visual arts student working across a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, installation and stop-motion animation. I am also passionate about teaching and sharing what I do with a community of learners with the same curiosity.

I have studied and pursued visual arts starting from high school, having done the IGCSE and IB visual art course, and am currently practicing and learning at Beaux Arts de Paris. With this background, I am familiar with high school examinations, as well as the process of creating applications for university, and would love to help students with these goals.

However, I have also taught students from different fields (for example students doing their phd in neuroscience at ICM Paris)- and so it is not important to have prior experience in the arts for my lessons, interest and motivation are enough as a starting point.

I am also passionate about the English language; poetry and creative writing that I practice add to and inspire my work. I have experience in teaching English to non-English speakers, as well as school students or adults looking to improve their writing skills.

Education

Currently studying at École Nationale Supérieure Des Beaux-arts, Paris

Completed International Baccalaureate at Navrachana International School, Vadodara, Gujarat, India (2020)

Experience / Qualifications

Working as an English teacher for French-speaking students (2022-2023)

Have worked with primary school children teaching arts, crafts and storytelling (2020-2021)

I have invited Shree to an art lesson with multiple fellow drawing beginners. She paid a lot of attention to every one and could help us improving our skills.

Plastic arts and Creativity for everyone. Experienced art teacher
I propose universal plastic art program which contains possibilities to learn drawing, sketching, painting and small scale sculpting. Through improving these skills and knowledge, I also teach creative thinking, observation, awareness and deep understanding what's around us and what's inside. Examples from art history and the art world are discussed. The program is flexible and suitable for anyone of any level who wants to learn. The needs and character of each student will also be taken into attention. Speaking from experience, the learning process can grow into creatively stimulating challenges and ambitious projects, which I am also ready to help the student to implement.

Former student in Applied Arts at Boulle school (Paris 12th), I offer courses of support, development or discovery to help you progress in applied arts and design. Alice
Graduate teacher for exam assistance, essay writing, general culture or guided tours
I give private lessons in art history for three years, either for students who need an accompaniment, or for the curious who want to enrich their artistic culture. My teaching adapts precisely to the needs of each student and especially to their way of assimilating information. Former student in difficulty, I developed a method that allows to analyze any type of work, from classical to contemporary, without prior knowledge. I am specialized in the methodology of dissertation / dissertation according to the rules of the French University. (Construction of the plan, development of a common thread, layout etc.) Passionate, I also like to transmit the wonderful stories of the works during introductory courses in art history, artistic culture or guided tours of the museum. My classes are also convivial moments where we can talk about our personal interests, which allows me to direct my students to exhibitions, readings or events related to their subject. My goal is obviously to make my students autonomous, so I give them all the tools they need to know how to provide excellent work without being dependent on the particular teacher at the end of the year. My latest students: - Zaïd: redoubling for the second time his degree in Visual Arts at the Sorbonne because of theoretical subjects, passed his exams successfully this year. He regained confidence and taste to study. -Claire: student at Boulle school in woodcarving redoubled because of his memory. I supervised him in the writing of his new dissertation mixing literary analysis, artistic and scientific discoveries. She validated it brilliantly. -Tian: 30 years old, Chinese student, had no knowledge of Western art history. After a year of private lessons, she was admitted to the GRETA School of Tour Guides. -Aude: I guide Aude and her two teenage children in the big museums to discover the little stories behind each painting. From the Palais de Tokyo to the Louvre Museum I invent for them playful ways to apprehend the works. - Jacqueline: 94 years old, had lost her good humor and was bored. For 2 years now, we have met every week for a moment of sharing and exchange around artistic themes chosen especially for her. It’s a joy for everyone.

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.
I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Drawing and Painting Lessons: Developing Your Unique Visual Language

From still life and portraiture to landscapes, abstract painting, and multimedia art, this course will support you in developing your unique visual language. Idris
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic language
I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? Don’t hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)

Discover your way of drawing for all levels. Sketching, perspective, spatial imagination and intuitive drawing.
I have academic teaching experience from the TU Eindhoven, where I graduated in architecture. I can teach you how to construct perspective, make concept sketches, but also how to overcome a creative block by working with the non-dominant (creative) part of your brain. My goal is to share my knowledge and passion for drawing while supporting you on your own creative path. I will focus on what feels natural for your growth. Individual approach is key to my method. Everyone can learn how to draw. You can, too! It is your unique perception, that calls you to be expressed on paper. Listen to that voice. Allow yourself to take care of your creative dream! Creative Illustration and the Fundamentals of Drawing
I'll be teaching you the subjects I can see you have most difficulty with - be it figure drawing, perspective, concept art or even going back to fundamentals as a reminder. I do both traditional and digital art, so I can also teach you how to move from one media to another without fear! Before our first lesson - Do you have time for homework? - Do you prefer a more objective explanation as opposed to a more detailed one? - Do you prefer learning all the theory first and then practicing later all at once, or to take it in small chunks? - How experienced are you in art? - Do you prefer a more casual class or one that challenges you every time? Just a tiny PSA - if you're starting out from the very beginning with the fundamentals, please bear with me for a couple of classes because it will probably be super boring at first! I'll try to make it as entertaining as possible, but I'm (painfully) aware of how dull the more technical subjects can be. I PROMISE it will get better. Pinky promise.
