Γεια σας, είμαι η Λίζα! Hello, I’m Liza. I'm a Greek native speaker. I'm a Greek language teacher holding a PhD in Linguistics as well a certification in Teaching Greek as a second/foreign language.

I do believe that studying a new language offers access to a new culture and a new way of seeing life. Because learning a new language is not only about grammar and vocabulary. It's mainly about culture and communication.

I have a 24 years’ experience teaching Modern and Ancient Greek Language and Literature in upper secondary education. I also have 20 years of experience in teaching Greek as a foreign in person and on-line.
As a linguist and an experienced teacher, I customize my lesson to students' needs, objectives and way of learning. My teaching method is mainly communicative, but mixed with the advantages of the traditional approach, as well as with the project-based teaching methodology and the use of digitals apps and tools.

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how.

I will adapt to your individual needs. Each course is tailor-made. We will analyze where your difficulties lie and together develop a course program that will make you perform as quickly as possible. The basic principle of the courses I offer is dialectics, like Plato's dialogues: reflecting together, making theoretical contributions, asking questions and seeking answers, and testing the validity of reasoning.

For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University. It turns out that the analytical mind is very useful even outside the confines of philosophy. Today, there are even fields of activity such as management with philosophy or philotherapy. In recent years, some German students have asked me to also teach them philosophy courses, and that is why I decided to offer philosophy courses directly.

Philosophy is one of the most rewarding subjects a student can study, and one of the most demanding. I tutor philosophy and ethics at A-Level (AQA and OCR), IB Diploma, and undergraduate level, working with students from confident philosophers preparing for top university applications to beginners encountering rigorous philosophical thinking for the first time.

Sessions are tailored to each student. With exam-track students I focus on essay structure, argument construction, careful textual analysis, and the specific demands of the syllabus. With students preparing for Oxbridge applications and interviews, I work on intellectual flexibility, handling unfamiliar questions under pressure, and developing the rigorous reasoning admissions tutors look for. With students new to philosophy, I focus on foundational skills: clear definitions, careful reading, structured argument, and precise writing.

Subjects I cover include epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, philosophy of religion, political philosophy, moral and applied philosophy, and Islamic intellectual tradition. I also supervise IB Theory of Knowledge essays and presentations, and IB Extended Essays in philosophy, world religions, history, and English.

Currently preparing a doctoral application to the University of Oxford. Thirteen years of teaching and curriculum design experience, including as the lead teacher at Australia's largest pre-medical education provider, where I built the humanities curriculum for GAMSAT preparation.

We begin with your own philosophy reading: What kind of philosophy do you enjoy? Which author(s) would you like to discover or explore further? Which philosophical text is important to you?

From there, the challenge is to deepen and broaden your thinking by renewing the way you read philosophy, through both new approaches and new sources.

A key element of my approach is working with both contemporary materials and classical texts. I specialise in topics related to politics and ethics, while also engaging with art, science, psychology, technology, education, and more.
