Hello! I am Inês, a professional violinist based in Amsterdam. After completing my Bachelor at Codarts-Rotterdam and my Master and Postgraduate in violin performance at the Koniklijk Conservatory Brussel, I am currently active as a freelance violinist and perform regularly in chamber music concerts, having played in festivals such as the Grachten Festival, OUTDOORS, Opera Forward Festival, Uitmarkt, among others. I am also passionate about teaching, and have experience working both in individual lessons with a wide range of ages and in conducting group workshops for children. Wether you are taking your first steps with the violin or if you have played it before and want to pick it up again, I will guide you through developing your musical ear, cultivating a solid and healthy technique, reading music scores fluently, and mostly - to enjoy playing music!

I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies). In the individual lessons we discuss possibilities of thinking about sounds and ways of bringing sounds to life in different ways. Violin lessons are in particular a great way of exploring the connectedness of the thought, feelings, and body through learning the instrument as well as reading music. In each lesson, we discuss ways of developing a better understanding of this connection using different methods; the methods used for each student can vary according to their needs. As a result, students will be able to play different music on the violin and improvise on the instrument. In music theory, ear training, and composition lessons we delve into the basics of music theory in Western Classical tradition, the history of it, and look at some examples as well as practical exercises for a better understanding of the material. Through the process of learning, we will explore different ways of implementing different theoretical aspects of the sound in creative practice.
