It is aimed at everyone, children and adults, complete beginners and more experienced musicians looking for advice, a method or outside advice.

Autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening are the main 4 words for me!

I can teach you drums in many styles (rock, funk, jazz, shuffle, pop, linear, world music, songs on demand) and in its many forms AND of course music theory, which can be integrated into the course if necessary, but also be the subject of a private lesson for students who wish support for their courses in an academy or at the Conservatory. This will help you for sure to reading scores, as well as sight reading.

Hi there!
I'm Matteo from Salerno, Italy and I've been into music since I was 6. Therefore I've gained experience in the musical field, as a teacher and a live and recording musician.

I run my own Neapolitan Jazz/Funk band: C'ammafunk and collaborate with some national and international musicians like Dario Deidda, Daniele Scannapieco, Vanessa Haynes, Baba Sissoko, Romain Labaye and more.

Education

I've got in 2022 my Master Degree at Salerno State Conservatory studying with the great drums teacher Salvatore Tranchini.

I'm currently living in Brussels since I've started a trainee program at KCB as Assistant Professor of the Jazz Drums class led by Stéphane Galland.

Expérience / Qualifications

I've got behind me hundreds of national concerts and some of them abroad too.
I also know how to produce and mixing a song, since I led my Italian band and co-working with some other musicians in terms of producing and sound design.

Ultimately, I really like teaching students, trying to communicate my vision and approach to the music with the goal to emphasize their own music sensibility and inner voice. So my goal is to give you a solid technique which it'll need to serve you in order to express yourself in the best way possible.

If you've been eager to get better in jazz music and therefore studying all its different styles and drummers, I can help you for sure!
Particularly, I've studied in deep Tony Williams' and Elvin Jones' playing, so if you really want to improve that kind of vision and sound I can give you some great hints such as transcriptions, analysis, sound strategies and many video materials.
Also, I am specialized in Funk/Hip-Hop music and that kind of groovy world. So, I've been mastering a specific approach to this genre as well.

I've been playing drums since I was 6. I got my Master Degree in 2022 at Salerno Music Conservatory (Italy) in Jazz Drums and Percussion.
I've been doing the role of Assistant Professor at KCB with Stéphane Galland throughout the 2023.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students.

My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player.
I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor.
I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco.
In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso.
I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe.
I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop.
I toured with the famous Italian Drummer Tullio De Piscopo (Pino Daniele, Mina, Astor Piazzolla's drummer) and also had the chance to make a variety of television appearances on Italian National Television (Rai1, Rai5, Rai3).

Hi, my name is Jeremy and I’m a professional funk bassist. I've been playing music for 19 years, having performed and composed with many groups and ensembles across England and Belgium.

I will teach you how to reach your goals while having fun in the process, keeping lessons tailored to your personal needs. I am a professional drummer, composer, and performer based in Brussels, with an active career in jazz, improvised, and creative music across Europe.
