Hello, I am Francesca and I have been playing the drums for some years now. I have a bachelor and a master's in science but I chose to make a turning point in my life and study music. I was admitted in the conservatory of Groningen in 2021, in the jazz departement but after successfully completing 2 years, I chose to leave the academic institution.

I would like to share the artistry and joy of drumming but also the knowledge I have gained so far, with students of all ages and especially beginners.
In my lessons, I focus on practical skills like rhythm, coordination, and technique. We work through exercises and songs together, tailored to each student's goals and abilities.

My approach is hands-on and encouraging. I know that learning drums can be challenging, so I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and pushing their limits. Whether they're aiming to nail their favorite song or just want to have fun jamming, I'm there to guide them every step of the way.

Through patient instruction and a passion for music, I aim to instill not only drumming skills but also a lifelong love for making music. It's about more than just hitting the right beats—it's about feeling the rhythm and expressing yourself behind the kit.

With a lifelong passion for music and a diverse background in various instruments such as guitar and bass, I embarked on a journey to further hone my skills in drumming, ultimately pursuing studies in the Netherlands. With both a Bachelor's and s Master's degree in science, my heart remained devoted to music.
Having played in various bands and ensembles, I I hope to bring a modest amount of knowledge and expertise to my teaching practice.
My philosophy as an instructor prioritizes the enjoyment and engagement of my students above all else. Whether delving into rock, pop, Latin, or beyond, I customize my lessons to match each student's unique tastes and how they learn best. From mastering favorite songs to refining coordination and rhythm, I strive to create a dynamic and personalized learning experience.
Open to new ideas and approaches, I continuously evolve my teaching methods to suit the unique needs of each student, recognizing that diversity is the key to musical growth.

Education

I have a Bachelor's in Materials Science, a Master's in Medicinal Chemistry and 2 years of Jazz music studies in the conservatory of Groningen, in the Jazz department.

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV).
I offer personalized lessons meeting the desires and ambitions of everyone, from the simple beginner to the confirmed musician.
For the flute lessons, I offer exercises for sound, technique, adapted pieces. During music theory lessons, I can give tips for learning to read keys, rhythms, and offer dictations. Studying the theory allows you to learn to recognize chords, to calculate a score, to analyze the structure of a piece, to recognize the style from musical elements.
It is possible to combine several lessons, for example half an hour of flute then a quarter of an hour of music theory.

Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam.
I am currently studying pop/rock drums at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht.
I play in 2 bands. I also play in many different session projects (from pop to rock). I work a lot with hybrid drums (triggers and SPD) and also teach them with Ableton.

The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system.
In addition, I can occasionally offer a lesson in Utrecht!
If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible!

We can work on, among other things:
- Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?)
Creativity (how can I ultimately make cool parts on the drums myself? Or different parts than what you initially came up with?)
- Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!)
- Timing (playing along with songs, with click tracks, how can I become more playful with the click?)
- Relaxed posture
- Drum notation (learning to read drum notes)
- New fills, grooves and beats
- Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?)
- Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton

And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot!

Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer.

Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults.

Lessons and teaching method:
I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time.

For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm.
Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too!

About me:
In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing).

I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

My name is Mathilde, I am a French violinist, pianist, harpsichordist, producer and composer.
I have graduated from the world’s great institutions such as the Royal College of Music London, Manhattan School of Music New-York, Brussels Royal Conservatory, and Paris-Sorbonne University (in musicology).
I have been performing concerts around the world in the most prestigious concert halls including the Châtelet Theatre and Seine Musicale (Paris), the National Opera House (Oman) and La Scala (Milan), as well as many other venues in Europe, US, China, Middle-East. During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam.

With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). Based on the teaching experiences I have, I can consider myself as a teacher with patience, motivating style and an open mind. Happy to provide references from my previous students from Amsterdam / Paris / Milan if requested.

Next to my technical teaching skills, I am also actively involving in various musical projects. I have recently performed for major TV shows in Paris: Le Grand Échiquier (France 2), Variations (France Télévisions, Culturbox), and I am currently making my first classical / electronic album in Amsterdam.

Private lessons for beginners to advanced level of violin playing. All ages are welcome. I am a professionally trained teacher and violinist for almost two decades. My lessons are given in English, Spanish and (basic) Dutch.

My teaching method is variable depending on the students' needs, but the goal is shared: to make a great musician and qualified violinist out of the pupil. I work on both technical and musical aspects from a (very) consciously prepared healthy and enjoyable perspective. Particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones!

I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my students. I also give some additional tools applicable to the violin playing which includes: Introduction to Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Body & Mind. All the basic theory is taught too.

Occasionally, there are student concerts and collaborations with other teachers. (These may include some teachers from the Sweelinck Academy or the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and more).

From among the required tools for my lessons are: a violin and a bow, score and books purchases when necessary, and, from time to time, meetings with the parents. On occasion, I use digital tools like phone/tablet apps.

I can teach in various places near or in the center of Amsterdam, or, depending on the need, I can move to pretty much wherever in The Netherlands.

About the homework, I send it to the students on a weekly basis and encourage them to participate on competitions and summer music courses. As always, this is conditional on the pupil's stage.

My name is Matteo, I'm a professional bassist from Brussels, currently based in Amsterdam.
I perform and have performed with renowned musicians and bands from many different scenes and styles, bringing me to venues all over the world (USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Portugal, Spain...).
I have a deep passion for music ever since I started playing 16 years ago, and would like to share it with you!
