The scientific reports and orals that you produce during your university course strongly condition the success of your studies. The greatest, smartest scientist will never be recognized if he fails to communicate and present his results. In this course we will therefore learn how to write a scientific report / dissertation, what are the fundamental parts and their contents. This course may be based on the reports that you have already produced, that you will / must produce, or on content from the lessons that I have produced at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Grenoble. Example lesson: - Analysis of a scientific article that I will have communicated to you. - The different parts of an article and the content. - How to present results. - Writing a report and correction during a second exchange.

Protein Synthesis – Edexcel A-Level Biology (Brief Class Summary) 1. Overview Time: 10minutes Protein synthesis is the process by which cells build proteins based on genetic instructions. It occurs in two main stages: transcription and translation. 2. Key Stages Time: 40 minutes a) Transcription (Nucleus) - DNA unzips and RNA polymerase reads the template strand. - mRNA (messenger RNA) is synthesized using complementary base pairing. - mRNA leaves the nucleus via nuclear pores. b) Translation (Ribosome – Cytoplasm) - Ribosomes read the mRNA codons. - tRNA brings specific amino acids to the ribosome. - Anticodons on tRNA match with codons on mRNA. - Amino acids link via peptide bonds, forming a polypeptide. 3. Important Molecules - DNA– Stores genetic code. - mRNA – Temporary copy of gene. -tRNA– Transfers amino acids. -Ribosomes – Site of protein synthesis. -Amino Acids– Building blocks of proteins. 4.
