Lukas began his studies at the Kosice Consevatoire with Vera Lipatova. Followed by bachelor studies at the Royal College of Music in London (Andriy Viytovych) he obtained Masters Performance Diploma from Music University in Zürich, where he studied with Christoph Schiller.

Lukas is prizewinner of several music competitions, such as Premio Geminiani in Verona, Kenneth Page Viola Competition in London or Beethovens Hradec (Czech Republic).

Since student times he participated at various festivals and academies (Mahler Academy Bolzano, Encuentro Santander, Konvergencie Bratislava). He also participated in the Castleton Festival (Washington, USA), performing in the chamber orchestra for Benjamin Britten operas under Lorin Maazel.
In 2011 Lukas won Academy position (Praktikum) in Berner Symphonieorchester, Switzerland and since then he performs regularly with the orchestra. He served as principal viola of Slovak Sinfonietta and worked also in Orquesta de Extremadura (Spain). He performs regularly with various orchestras and ensembles in Switzerland , such as Zuger Sinfonietta or Camerata Schweiz.

An interest in baroque music led to the study of the baroque viola ( courses with Freiburger Baroque Orchestra, EUBO, Schwetzinger Hofmusik-Akademie ) and performances with various ensembles.

Education

Lukas , geboren in Presov (Slowakei) erhielt mit sechs Jahren seinen ersten Violinunterricht. Später besuchte er das Konservatorium in Kosice als Bratscheschüler von Vera Lipatova. Er absolvierte sein Studium an der Royal College of Music in London (Andriy Viytovych) und Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Christoph Schiller).

Lukas besuchte Meisterkurse u.a. bei Lawrence Power, Mikhail Kugel, Diemut Poppen, Gordan Nikolitch und Zakhar Bron. Er ist Preisträger von vielen Wettbewerben, z.B. Francesco Geminiani in Italien, North London Festival und Kenneth Page Bratschen-Wettbewerb in Grossbritanien. Als Solist hat er mit dem Kosice Konservatorium Orchester, der Sinfonietta Zilina, dem Visegrad Jugend Sinfonieorchester, dem Staats Sinfonieorchester Kosice und dem Situation Opera Orchestra London gespielt.

Er ist Zuzüger im Berner Symphonieorchester, Camerata Schweiz und Zuger Sinfonietta.

Lukas beschäftigt sich intensiv mit der Barockbratsche und der alten Musik. (Masterclass bei Freiburger Baroque Orchestra, EUBO, Schwetzinger Hofmusik-Akademie )

Since last years of my studies I teach privately violin, viola and chamber music. I stay flexible with needs of the student and intensity of classes - as the age range of my students is from 7 to 80 years !

Hello and welcome!

A former student of the Popular Conservatory of Music in Geneva, I am currently a master's student at the Geneva University of Music, Neuchâtel site.

I have 14 years of violin practice behind me and very much wish to transmit and share my passion for music.

In order to make you progress at best, I will rely on solid pedagogical and technical bases but will also be able to adapt to you and your desires / needs. We will be able to discuss the repertoire that you want to tackle: from baroque to contemporary music to film music - as long as it makes you vibrate ...! I will also be able to find people to make chamber music so that you can discover the pleasure of playing together.

If you want to learn basic solfeggio, it is totally possible to integrate it in the course, to see with the schedules.

These courses are primarily for beginner / intermediate violinists of all ages as it is never too late to start.

If you are at the conservatory or at a music school, I am also available for support work.

I teach in French, Russian or English.

I would like to help you on the way to realize your dream of playing the violin. As a trained violinist (studied in Salzburg and Berlin) and experienced violin teacher, I know what is important when playing the violin and can show you how to solve your problems, whether it be practicing, before appearances or exams. I am there for you and would be happy to accompany you on your way. I am open to different styles, whether you want to play the violin the classic way, rock the violin or improvise jazzy. Repertoire requests are very welcome with me. If you wish, you can also learn the viola.
I will teach at my home, at your place or via Skype, as you wish. I grew up in Switzerland and speak Swiss German, and I also teach in High German, English, French or Russian.
I also offer music theory, which can be booked as an addition to violin lessons or as a separate subject.

I offer Violin Lessons in Winterthur and Zürich, I will be very happy to introduce you Violin even if you are an absolutely beginner, or already professional player, I teach also people in all the ages and children from the age of 6, and the Lesson could be made on German, Englisch, Spanisch or French, I will be also happy to learn you how to read music and basic music-theoretical approaching, The Lessons could be held in the City center of Winterthur, (5 min from Winterthur main station) or at your place in Zurich or Winterthur.

Hello, my name is Izabel and I play the viola professionally and work in Zurich Opernhaus as well as other orchestras.
I also have more than 10 years of experience teaching the violin, the viola and music theory.
I can speak fluent English, Bulgarian and French. I can also understand German, but cannot fluently communicate.
I would be happy to work with you or your child at your home, or in my studio, as well as give an online course. My weeks are often quite flexible and I am happy to accommodate to your schedule whenever it is possible.

It is an important step in one's development to seek the right guidance and to have a teacher who helps them develop and grow. I was lucky to have been taught by incredible teachers, but I also needed to create a specialised way of practicing for myself, which I soon realised could help many others get through the difficulties of learning the stringed instrument.

I am a professional violin and viola teacher based in Zurich, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian.

As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe.

I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano.

As a performing musician, I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Philharmonie in Berlin. I’m a Tillett Trust and Villa Musica artist, winner of the Małopolska competition, Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition.

I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor.
