Singing lessons: vocal technique and interpretation - All repertoires (specialization in early music)

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
• Do you like to sing, do you want to tame the possibilities of your voice?

• Are you part of a choir and would like to gain vocal comfort and autonomy?

• Do you need coaching to work on your stage presence, your diction, your interpretation?

• Do you want to discover the vast vocal repertoire of early music?

I would like to help you move forward on the long and mysterious path of the voice. Let's meet to learn together around this fascinating and multifaceted instrument, both the most universal and the most intimate.

MY VISION OF TEACHING

Trained as an opera singer, I have been teaching students of all ages and levels since 2015, individually or in small groups.
I know the classical repertoire well, and also the so-called "old" music.
But I'm interested in all styles: musical, variety, traditional...

For me, teaching singing is:
• stand next to the student, look with him/her to see what the obstacle is, and look for solutions together to overcome it.
• always show kindness, empathy, patience, non-judgment. I ensure that these values are present in every lesson I give.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Audience: adults, teenagers from around 16 years old.
(For younger children, you can contact me to discuss it).

Course of a typical lesson:
• 1st part: warm-up and technical exercises (posture, breathing, resonances)
• 2nd part: work "in context" on a piece (recovery of technical elements, diction of the text, interpretation)

Individual lessons or in small groups (2 to 4 people).
If you have any special requests, please let me know.

If you don't know how to read music (this is the case for a number of my students): that's not a problem! There are plenty of ways to learn and progress.

MY MUSICAL CURRICULUM

My background is quite eclectic: after a university course in art history and archeology in France, I studied at the Haute École de Musique de Genève-Neuchâtel where I obtained a Master's degree in Concert in lyrical singing. .

I acquired, during my studies and my professional activity, a lot of experience of choral practice, and I was able to attend many choir conducting classes.

Finally, I had the opportunity to specialize in early music: Gregorian chant, medieval music, Renaissance polyphonies, 17th and 18th century baroque music, ornamentation, notation, theoretical treatises, facsimile reading...

In summary, I like things that are off the beaten track!

About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Florence, soprano singer

Florence begins music from childhood. Enrolled in the music school of her hometown, she plays the guitar, the cello and sings enthusiastically in the children's choir. At the age of fifteen, she accidentally discovered opera singing, which would become her true instrument.

After university studies in archeology, Florence decided to devote herself professionally to the practice of music. She joined the Haute École de Musique de Genève-Neuchâtel where she obtained a Bachelor's degree and then a Master's degree in opera singing in 2016 in the class of Jeanne Roth.
During her studies, Florence also sang in Celso Antunes' choral conducting class between 2011 and 2018, which shed new light on voice pedagogy and choir practice. Finally, she assiduously frequents the Center for Ancient Music in Geneva: among others, she benefits from the advice of Gabriel Garrido and Leonardo García Alarcón for the interpretation of baroque music.

She performs in concert, as a soloist or in choral formation, within various ensembles in French-speaking Switzerland and in France (La Sestina, L'Horizon Chimère, Novum Castellum, Le Ridotto, Alkymia...). She notably sings polyphonies of the Renaissance, baroque music, the choral repertoire of the 20th century, and oratorio.
On stage, Florence also likes eclecticism: she plays the role of Musica in Claudio Monteverdi's Orfeo, or the character of Lucy in the musical show "Dracula, drinker of sounds".

Since 2015, Florence has been teaching singing in various contexts. In addition to individual lessons, she also supervises group work sessions for several vocal ensembles in the Lake Geneva region (Geneva, Cossonay, Le Sentier) and develops her activities as a choir director. Combining versatility, pedagogy and artistic sense, choral direction is a logical evolution of her career as a musician.

Singing Lesson - Italian Soprano - Soloist and voice teacher for any style!
I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.

Ziad
Oud and oriental Arabic singing lessons with an experienced teacher
Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies. Please feel free to leave me a message, I will reply as soon as possible.

I'm a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London with many years experience as a professional soprano. I've sung with the Madrid Royal opera chorus and the Radio television in Spain and am an established International soloist in Baroque, opera and Contemporary music. I love to share my passion for singing and to help singers achieve a relaxed and secure technique. I like to work on different styles so the full range of colours and sounds can be explored. The voice is an amazing instrument. If you're a beginner wanting to learn the basics or a more advanced singer preparing for exams, roles or auditions, I'd love to help. Ziad
Oriental Arabic Oud and Singing Teacher in Germany
In our Oud class, I will guide you through everything from basic to advanced techniques. We will cover playing for all levels, correct left-hand use, synchronizing with the right hand, handling the pick, tuning the Oud, and effectively using a tuner and metronome. In the remaining time, we will dive into reading musical notes, starting with basic Solfege and progressing to advanced and oriental Solfege, including dictation exercises. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded musical journey My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. Feel free to leave me a message, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
