Ik ben Dion. Ik heb tweetalig VWO gevolgd in de richting natuur en gezondheid. Op school werd me altijd druk op gelegd, en mede daardoor ben ik, ironisch genoeg, in eerste instantie op scheikunde gezakt. Ik kreeg toen door dat het echt mijn eigen verantwoordelijkheid was mijn school te halen, ben er toen voor gegaan en heb ontdekt dat scheikunde leuk is en het uiteindelijk met een 8 afgerond.

Ik heb de afgelopen jaren leerlingen lesgegeven die soms jaren onder het gevraagde niveau zaten. Samen hebben we hun achterstand, die soms jaren betrof, ingehaald en hebben ze allemaal hun eindexamen VWO succesvol afgerond. Ik heb hiervan geleerd hoe belangrijk het is aan te sluiten op het tempo en niveau van de leerling en ze van daaruit verder te helpen. Hoe belangrijk het is zelf een baken van rust en ontspanning te zijn zodat leerlingen het op hun eigen tempo en manier kunnen doen. Ik vind het belangrijk om van elke les iets leuks en iets ontspannends te maken.

Ik vind het belangrijk om leerlingen op een rustige en duidelijke manier te helpen met respect voor ieders persoonlijke, unieke tempo. Mijn ervaring met leerlingen is dat leerlingen veel druk kunnen voelen of opgelegd krijgen, maar ik werk anders. Ik vind het fijn om een ontspannen en plezierige leeromgeving te creëren waarin mensen hun potentie kunnen ontdekken. In mijn lessen steun ik leerlingen om hun eigen verantwoordelijkheid te pakken, zodat ze het uiteindelijk zelf zouden kunnen doen. Samen werken we zo door de stof heen tot je alles begrijpt wat je wil begrijpen.
