A lively and laid back approach to a foreign language!

Discover French through discussion with a native and specialist of French History and language. There is a lot to learn about everything French and I would happily support your oral practice whilst providing you with a personalised insight of my national culture.

We can chat out of the blue or discuss a piece of French poetry, music, philosophy, art... a political or historical event... anything is possible!

I am extremely keen on history and language (it is my job). But I am also very interested in Politics, Economy, Sociology, Arts...

As a generalist, I can provide my interlocutor with any topic they wish to deepen. My French has been regarded as exquisite by my professors at University and I have no accent (though I can imitate a lot of our regional ones ;) ).

About Me

An easy-going and warm person, I usually get my younger pupils at ease. As far as mature ones are concerned, they can find in me an experienced teacher willing to taylor classes to their very needs. Teaching has always been a pleasure for me and a vocation. It is a feature that pervades through my classes. I am also very keen on interdisciplinarity and showing the link between the subjects I teach and everyday's life in all its aspects.

Experience / Qualifications

I have been a teacher of French, Latin, Ancient Greek and English in the French Secondary School System for 5 years and a teaching assistant at the University of Reading in Classics for a year. I owe a French PGSE and have a clean French DBS check. I am also a young specialist in medieval manuscripts (palaeography). I have 16 years of experience as a private tutor with ages from 3 to 54. I have also been a private tutor and governess for HNWI in Moscow and Kiev.

Whatever your level might be, from complete beginner to bachelor student in distress, if you thirst for ancient languages, the only key to approach humanities in depth, the best way to understand the History of Western Civilisation, the origin of most Western European languages and the basis of the terminology of no less than Literature, Philosophy, Medecine and Law, this class is for you. Besides, if you were not disturbed by the length of the latter sentence, you might even have predispositions ;)

A PhD student, I have been teaching Latin and Greek from middle schools to Bachelor's Degree, both in secondary schools and at University (Reading, UK). I am able to provide my students with traditional language courses, or preparations for national exams, but I can also make the matter more appealing and cultural by linking the subject to nowadays society and show in which measure Latin and Greek are still part of everyday's life.
