My name is Pedro, I'm a Portuguese jazz musician and a 2025 graduate of the Juilliard School in New York City. I offer piano, drums, vibraphone lessons in a relaxed, pressure-free environment where you can explore, experiment, and connect with the rich, soulful world of jazz. Whether you're just beginning or looking to deepen your understanding, my goal is to help you grow musically while discovering the beauty of this incredible art form. I'm deeply passionate about jazz and thrilled to share that passion with others through teaching and performing. My lessons are taught in English and/or Portuguese, online or in person in amd around the Freiburg area.

Bildung

In 2025 I graduated as a Master’s Student from the Juilliard School in New York City. Before my masters degree I finished my Bachelor’s degree in music performance at ESMAE, a university of arts in Porto, Portugal in 2023. I also finished my high school degree in 2019 at the Music Conservatory of Porto.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen

My musical career started at the age of 9 with classical percussion lessons in my hometown in Portugal. In 2016, I started having jazz vibraphone lessons in the Music Conservatory of Porto, the same city where I later finished my Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance. This year (2025) I finished my Master's degree at the Juilliard School in New York City. Throughout my academic career I have had the chance to collaborate with acclaimed musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Washington, Gerald Cannon... In the summer of 2025 I was selected for the renowned Ravinia Music Festival where I opened for Kurt Elling's "Weather Report" project. I have had the chance to play in venues such as Dizzy's and Alice Tully Hall in New York City, and Casa da Música in Porto, Portugal, where I played my own compositions with my quartet. These opportunities have given me experience in both composing and performing which I intend to pass on to my future students.
