ART - Painting and drawing classes for older adults

Offering hour-long Art sessions for older adults who enjoy or have always wanted to enjoy drawing and painting but have never had the time. I offer classes in your own home that are designed to encourage gentle creativity through drawing and painting in a wide range of mediums. You can choose your own subjects, or we can choose them together, and if you want gentle guidance, it’s at hand. I will also introduce and advise you about art materials. You will definitely create beautiful and satisfying artwork at your own pace with a friendly gentle tutor.

These sessions are for those who want to spend time gently working one-on-one with an experienced tutor, and above all, enjoy themselves.

Über mich

I have always loved drawing and painting and started finding ways to keep doing this from an early age. I developed a keen interest in art history and out of a sense of sheer fun started including drawings in my academic work. Responses from my tutors were so positive and rewarding that my curiosity grew, motivating me towards gaining a B.A. in Fine Art and M.A. in Art and Design in Education, to become a teacher.

However, I enjoy other forms of fun too. I love going to the cinema, travelling, reading, taking photos, and meeting new people. All of this keeps me feeling happy and optimistic about life and helps me to create Art sessions that give a real sense of satisfaction and achievement. I love learning and enabling others to enjoy art in positive, interesting, and stress-free ways. I am a sensitive, flexible, and up-beat person. I strive to make my sessions enjoyable, tailoring them to individual learning styles, interests, and previous knowledge. I love to give the people I work with, the opportunity to experience a real sense of satisfaction, joy and achievement, alongside achieving a high level of art knowledge and skill.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen

I have been an artist and teacher for over 30 years, and taught privately, as well as in primary and secondary schools in the UK and abroad. My Masters degree research was in Learning through Art and Play and I have had significant success with this approach with a wide range of children and adults, particularly with reluctant learners.
