Trusted teacher: The (viola da) gamba is a bowed string instrument that was popular from the mid-16th to the mid-18th century. Like the recorder, the instrument comes in a variety of sizes, from small instruments in the register of the violin to large double bass ones. The best known and most commonly used type is the bass viol. The bass viol can best be described as a cross between a cello and a guitar: the tuning and left hand technique are close to the guitar, but playing position and bowing are reminiscent of the cello. Film buffs know the instrument from the movie 'Tous les Matins du Monde' in which the gamba music of Ste. Colombe and Marin Marais is central. The instrument is also known through the passions of JS Bach, in which it plays a prominent role. But the instrument also has a rich and diverse repertoire, ranging from late renaissance to early classical and an increasing number of contemporary pieces. I studied gamba at the royal conservatory in The Hague with Wieland Kuijken. In the meantime I have about 30 years of experience in giving gamba lessons to children, young people and adults, ranging from absolute beginners to advanced players. In addition to the technique and the interpretation of the music on the instrument, I also offer support in the field of music theory and the historical context of the music. In addition to private lessons, I also teach gamba at music academy 'De Poel' in Ghent, the Municipal Conservatory of Bruges and KASK & Conservatory of Ghent.

Trusted teacher: ♛ All skill levels are welcome, from the beginner eager to expand their knowledge, to more seasoned players looking to secure coveted chess titles. ● Progress in chess can be long and winding. And without a coach's guidance, bad decisions and the habit of "bad reflexes" become a drag that so many players have known. That's why when you want to ensure long-term progress, taking the advice of an experienced player will cut you short from others, and encourage you to keep going. ● The goal of the first session together will be to determine with you what is best suited to work. An assessment of your strengths and weaknesses will therefore be made to allow yourself to plan a work program in the short and medium term. Having a clear idea of what we will be working together, and knowing what you can do on your own is essential. ● I can also prepare the study of any area that interests you. The goal being above all that your motivation and your pleasure remain intact. ➜ For the technical aspect, I use Skype to communicate, as well as the Lichess or chesscom interface (two completely free interfaces mainly intended for playing chess online) to share an analysis chessboard. It's very easy to use, and super practical! So don't hesitate to contact me, and we can directly discuss your situation and your goals :) MY JOURNEY Now 29 years old, I had a fairly classic chess apprenticeship with my father at the age of 7. Showing more skill and interest there than judo and tailoring, I pushed open a club door, and it never closed. I progressed throughout my youth, helped by successive coaches, International Masters or Grand Masters, until I became so in turn Chess coach for over 10 years. I decided to professionalize myself at the age of 24, once my studies were finished and my title of Grand Master reached. I am also coach of the young French teams, and preparer of the adult French team for several years. Also a writer, I have published two opening books (The Modernized Reti, and The Modernized Dutch, at Thinker's Publishing). I regularly do video series for Chess24, of which I leave you an extract! Despite my player soul which means that I will never stop, teaching has taken precedence over my practice of chess, and it is a choice that I do not really regret, as the progress of my students can be a source of pleasure and satisfaction.

Trusted teacher: Professional musician, graduated from the Music Academy International with honors. Guitarist especially, bassist from time to time and drummer a little bit.. Dynamic, attentive and passionate, I experience music in all its dimensions. The guitar is an instrument that I love, that I like to make discover and share. No matter your style and your level, I will be there to facilitate its learning, thanks to my desire to transmit, to my patience, I know how to make my students progress so that they take as much pleasure in playing as me! ====== 50% off ====== My organization is approved as a Personal Service. You can benefit from -50% thanks to the tax credit! My method: For beginners, we will try to play as quickly as possible some pieces, riffs and melodies. I will introduce you to chords, different ways of accompanying, in arpeggios, in strumming, with percussions... and rhythm! For intermediates, we can refine your playing by discovering specific guitar techniques: bends, slides, back and forth, sweeping, legato, tapping, string-skipping, chicken-picking, etc. There is plenty to do! 😅 We will further install your sense of rhythm, the true foundation of solid musical expression. I have a simple and infallible method for learning scales, harmony and knowing how to use them. We will start improvisation, this exhilarating feeling of letting go giving an incredible feeling of freedom, to demystify the great masters of the guitar: Hendrix, Django, Gilmour, Knopfler, Stevie Ray, Clapton, Gallagher, Page.. and the one you like! For apprentice shredders, with my technical skills, I will analyze your playing, freeing the blocking points, explore the harmony while refining the implementation because rhythm is music! And for the die-hards there remains: modes, melodious minor, diminished system, augmented, parton, modal harmony, knowing phrasing on different styles, intervals, pairs of triads, playing in arpeggios, jazz and bop, chromatic approaches, enclosures, diatonic, tritonic substitutions, polymodality, modern pentas, changes in flow, visualization of the neck, the CAGED system, the Coltrane Change, Petrucci, Guthie Govan, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie, Greg Howe, Nuno, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller, Matteo Mancuso, Rick Graham, Meshugg, Periph... 😉 I have played a lot, on stage, in the studio, and elsewhere, I could also advise you on equipment and on creating a repertoire. Finally, I have training as a Mix-Master sound engineer, passed at the CFSM under the direction of Nicolas SAFFRAY. We can see creation and mixing techniques specific to MAO if that suits you more. If you like guitar, don't hesitate!

I had a great first lesson using Ableton! Niki spent time helping me with my equipment set-up and also went through some of the settings with me. He explained things very clearly, answered my questions and showed me some of the basic things necessary to find my way as a beginner using Ableton. I now have a few things to try out and I'm excited to start experimenting and seeing what I can record. Thanks Niki!

Robin was wonderful!! He is a very warm, patient teacher and knows (in English) how to explain art techniques to a beginner. He was very amenable when I had to change dates and ran over the scheduled time when I was late showing up because I went to the wrong Starbucks. I will definitely call him again on my next trip to Paris. 5 stars!!!
