I use a structured and interactive approach. For both French and English, I don't just have students recite rules.
In English: Priority is given to practical application. We alternate between pure grammar and intensive oral practice to unlock expression.
In French: Focus on the logical structure of ideas, spelling and text analysis, essential skills that I use daily in engineering school to write technical reports.
2. Typical course structure
A one-hour lesson is generally divided into three phases:
Review (10 min): Review of concepts covered in the previous lesson and verification of acquired knowledge.
Core lesson (35 min): Explanation of a specific point (e.g., the passive voice in English or the compound commentary in French) followed by exercises for immediate application.
Summary and Objectives (15 min): Synthesis of what has been understood and definition of small independent exercises for the next session.
3. My specific qualities as a teacher
My dual expertise is my greatest strength. My engineering background provides me with an effective work methodology that I share with my students (organization, note-taking, time management). I am patient, young, and I use modern digital tools to make the lessons more engaging.
