I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment.

However, it is not always easy to deliver good texts. One person has great ideas, but cannot convert them into ink (digital or otherwise); the other is creative, but makes too many spelling mistakes; and a third kind of person is a language Nazi, but fails to come up with fluent, natural-feeling dialogue. Our writing course

Our course covers all possible texts and can be followed both privately and in a small group. Moreover, we mainly teach you what you are interested in. About our coach

To be sure: our head coach is at home in all markets. He wrote his first book, the science fantasy Ice, the Lost Planet, when he was 11. The novel was published three years later, which earned Dirk his city's cultural merit prize and items on almost all national TV and radio stations, as well as articles in every leading newspaper and a large number of magazines. Dirk later also became the very first Flemish author whose books he himself had pinned in English were published by American publishers: Fates Worse than Death: Hunter by Vajra Enterprises and Baour, Strands of Death by BlackWyrm Publishing.

In between Dirk became a journalist. Dirk wrote hundreds of press releases for PR agency Oskaar and later for his own PR agency, Badass PR - mainly for films, television series, the hospitality industry and various charities. He also provides numerous newsletters and social media for his clients.

Dirk has been a coach since he was twenty – when he was still studying psychology at the KUL – and has written several film and short film scripts as an acting teacher and screenwriter. Numerous radio spots have also rolled out of his brain. The most startling assignment, however, came when Modiphius Entertainment – the largest independent producer and distributor of role-playing games in the world – hired him to write the film script and audio play for Achtung! Cthulhu to write. They were so well received that he is currently reading the complete audio series of Achtung! Cthulhu is finishing. I have over 12 years of teaching experience and I have been working as a Professional Pianist for 7 years now, in 8 different countries (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain, etc.) and on Luxury Cruise Ships (Worldwide).

I can show you how to have fun with the piano. If you're a beginner, I can take you right from step one and have you playing familiar songs by the 1st or 2nd lesson. If you already have some experience, I can add to it.

I've been playing and studying piano since age 6 (over 25 years ago). I began with classical music, and later added Ragtime, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, and Chord theory.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance, Classical Music (4 years). I have participated in numerous Piano Masterclasses in Europe, and I studied with great pianists. I still learn from different Highly Accomplished Musicians. I believe learning never stops.

TEACHING STYLE

I am a very patient teacher. I love teaching all ages. I don't teach everyone the same way. I tailor lessons according to individual goals and needs. I insist on the importance of technique and musicality.

I also guide all my students even outside of the teaching time, by responding to all their questions (music theory or technical) and sending them videos.

I teach how to prevent Piano Injuries by focusing on proper technique, posture, and practice habits.

My professional experience includes coaching students of all levels and ages. I successfully prepared the students for their Piano Exams, like ABRSM, Trinity Grade, from grades 1-8, with merits and distinctions, and more advanced exams as well (Performance Diplomas).

I teach for the Enjoyment of Music as well. I believe you can learn to play the piano at any age. My oldest student is over 75 years old, and my youngest one is 3 years old. They made great progress, and I am sure you could do the same.

I've never met anyone who didn't have musical abilities! You can be a serious or a recreational player. The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano.

I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation.

I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons.

CURRICULUM

I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years.

For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs.

Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible.

I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music.

The solution? Online piano coaching.
As a musician and piano teacher, I understand these struggles very well. I personally had a hard time with the rigid structure of traditional music schools, and for a the longest time I didn’t know how to practise efficiently. How do you make progress without feeling overwhelmed? How do you combine learning music with a busy life?
Through years of experience, trial and error, , and a lot of searching, I found my own way, sometimes unconventional, sometimes surprising, but always with a lot of love for music.
I now hold a Master’s degree in Music, and I wrote my thesis on stress in professional musicians. This research not only influenced my way of playing, but also my teaching approach. I don’t believe music education should be stressful or intimidating. Instead, it should be supportive, motivating, and adapted to the person behind the instrument-while still actually learning something.

What makes my lessons special is the attention to relaxation and mental well-being. Music is not only physical; it is extremely connected to the mind and the breath. That’s why I incorporate elements of meditation, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques into my teaching.
Especially when preparing for a performance or a stressful moment, these tools can make a huge difference.
For example: before a concert, nerves often show up as shallow breathing, tension, or racing thoughts. I teach simple breathing exercises that help you calm your nervous system, focus your attention, and return to the music instead of the fear.
By integrating relaxation and mindfulness into your piano practice, you don’t just improve your technique — you build confidence, focus, and a healthier relationship with music-and yourself .
