Orestis
Piano Lessons for Students of all levels (English, Greek)
Hello! My name is Orestis, I come from Cyprus and I am 27 years old. I am passionate about teaching, and one of the greatest joys of my professional career is watching my students flourish. I have been playing the piano for 20 years now and have over 7 years in teaching the piano. My goal is to make the piano lessons fun and enjoyable while also incorporating all the necessary elements, such as theory, music history and sight-reading, to create a well rounded musical education. I am experienced with exam preparations (ABRSM) and music school admissions exams, but I prefer to create my own curriculum to fit each student’s specific needs and aspirations. I studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK (BA) and at the Liszt Academy of Music, HU (MA). I have performed extensively as a solo and chamber musician and I had the joy to collaborate with various orchestras. My greatest joy in music is collaborating and creating music together with other musicians, and this is why I am now pursuing the Specialized Piano Chamber Music Master’s at ZHdK. Flute and piccolo lessons or music theory lessons!
Graduated with highest marks cum laude for the Bachelor degree in flute at the Conservatory of Florence (Italy) and with the same points at the Conservatory of Milano for the piccolo Master, I am now attending a Master degree in flute performance at the Zurich University of the Arts. Music and especially flute and piccolo are my real passion. My lessons will be always different, based on the student. My main goal is to make music affordable to everyone, that's why I love to have students of any age. I'd love to have the opportunity to spread my passion: music should be first of all fun and a real joy!

Cello lessons for children and adults, individual lessons
Although learning a string instrument requires patience and is not always a pleasure to listen to, especially at the beginning, the cello makes things more pleasant for the learner and his / her environment thanks to its low register and warm, soft sound. In addition, the playing position is upright and natural. Last but not least, there is wonderful music for the cello to discover and learn!

The Sound of History: An introduction to the History of Western Classical Music
What makes Baroque music different from Romantic? How did Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky change the sound of the world? In this course, we’ll explore the major eras of Western classical music, from the ornate harmonies of the Baroque to the bold, theory-breaking works of the 20th century. Each lesson focuses on a different time period or movement, introducing key composers, musical styles, and the historical and cultural forces that shaped the sound of each era. This class is designed to be accessible and engaging, NOT theory heavy. No formal music training is required. We’ll focus on listening, storytelling, and historical context, helping you connect with music as both an art form and a reflection of its time. We’ll explore each period using musical excerpts, visual art, cultural history, and key ideas — with room for discussion, questions, and student interests. Topics Included: - Baroque Era: Bach, Vivaldi, sacred music, ornamentation, court life - Classical Era: Mozart, Haydn, balance, Enlightenment ideals - Romantic Era: Beethoven, Chopin, nationalism, emotion, revolution - Impressionism & Modernism: Debussy, Stravinsky, fragmentation, innovation - 20th Century and Beyond: Minimalism, film scores, electronic music, global voices Learning Goals: - How to identify musical styles and characteristics by era - Key composers and the cultural movements they reflected - How to listen critically and understand music’s relationship to its time - Confidence discussing music without needing formal training or theory background This class is perfect for music students, history lovers, or anyone curious about the evolution of classical music — and the stories it tells.

Yaniv
Classical & Electric Guitar Lessons - All Levels
Hello :) My name is Yaniv Hayoun, a classical guitarist and guitar teacher with over 10 years of playing experience and 6 years of teaching. In my lessons, I focus on the joy of playing — how to enjoy the music, build control and confidence, and play the music you love. I work with my own books, with pieces and songs I’ve played over the years, and I also teach songs that students love and want to learn. I teach how to figure out songs by ear, understand how to play them, write charts, and more. We can work together on reading notation and tablature, proper technique, playing classical pieces and songs, improvisation, ear training, rhythm, and music theory — all tailored to your level and goals. I taught for many years at a conservatory, as well as privately. Some of my students started learning with me from the very beginning, stayed committed, and today they play at a very high level and perform in various ensembles. This October, I’ll begin an exchange program at the University of the Arts Berlin (UDK), and I’ll likely continue living here. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and a diploma in jazz guitar performance from Rimon School of Music. I understand the path of every musician, because I’ve been through it myself. I started out learning on my own, and only after finding good teachers did I realize how much proper guidance and a teacher’s dedication can make a real difference. That’s why I build a personal and focused study plan for each student, to help them grow in the way that suits them best. I mainly teach classical guitar, but also electric, acoustic, and various styles. Richard
Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisation
Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible. See you soon! Richard PS: my specified hours are a guideline, if this does not suit you, you can certainly send us a message and we will try to arrange something :)
