Professional cello teacher based in Zurich (Hardbrücke) & Meilen — also teaching online. I teach children, teens and adults, from complete beginners to advanced students.

What makes my lessons different is the combination of strong classical training and a clear, structured method. We work step by step on posture, relaxed technique, bow control, intonation, rhythm and musical expression. Each lesson ends with a simple weekly practice plan, so you always know what to practice and how to progress.

Repertoire is fully flexible: classical music, film music, pop arrangements, jazz-inspired pieces and crossover — depending on your taste and goals.

Master of Arts in Performance (Cello) & Master of Arts in Pedagogy (Cello), Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Switzerland.
Major: Cello. Focus: Performance & Teaching.

• 10+ years of teaching experience (1:1 lessons for children, teens and adults)
• Strong focus on healthy technique and sound production (bow control, intonation, shifting), plus repertoire coaching and musical interpretation
• Preparation for auditions / exams / orchestra parts upon request
• Languages: English / German / Russian

I graduated from the Zurich University of the Arts and the Statd Basel Music Academy.
As a teacher, I regularly work as a substitute at the Musik Konzervatorium Zürich. I have a Fest Orchesterstelle in Chur, in the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden and I play with the Opernhaus Orchester Zürich, the Basel symphonieorchester and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
I teach the theory of cello and music in German, English and French with you or at home.

Warm sounds and stylistic versatility - the cello offers that and much more!
Ioanna gives her student body a lively and enriching approach to music. In this way, she awakens the joy of the variety of cello playing. She teaches the various playing techniques in a natural teaching atmosphere. She also experiments with simple melodies, scales and small improvisations. She also dares to work with her students on larger works from the wide range of cello literature.

In terms of pitch, the cello is most similar to the human voice - and thus also to the human soul.
