I specialise in tutoring for the 9-1 GSCE Graphic Design/ Product Design course, as well as A- Level Product Design. I achieved a 9 at GCSE Graphic Products and an A* in A-level Product design, I feel this gives me a unique insight into the course having completed it myself!!
Being a very visual subject, I can help improve technical drawing skills as well as the actual theory exam work with it, as I know this is often a challenge. Coursework is another area I will work with the student to improve, I use email and google docs to share work, that I can then identify areas to be developed or improved, and briefly work through how this can be achieved over the phone or via skype etc.
I take students from a range of levels and can work with them to help their confidence and get them the grade they deserve.
Extra information
Will need access to an email account and ideally an account with google to share work with me.

One of the areas I mainly specialise in is both GCSE and A- Level Fine Art, I achieved a 7 at GCSE and an A at A-Level. I tutor students of all abilities whether it is ' just to pass' or to help get the top grades they can.
During my sessions I go through coursework with the student, and identify areas that they could improve or develop upon. I use different video calling platforms to do this, and email to send me their work prior to the lesson. Often students can find it difficult to become inspired to form a whole project, from often tricky limiting titles. Hopefully I can listen to their ideas and help guide their final product and proof any written work that may come with it such as the 'Evaluation'.

The extended project is a very large and complex task without proper guidance and mentoring. I was lucky enough to receive a brilliant mentor when completing my own, and was a big factor in how I achieved the A grade.
Through these sessions the student can share with me their ideas for the EPQ, and I can guide them through all aspects of the process from the activity log to the dissertation itself. I welcome all ideas and projects art related as it is my speciality, but I am open to other subjects too!

Would you like to be able to illustrate the worlds and stories you imagine?

Do you want to learn how to create characters for a video game, animation, children's story, comic or in any format? Or would you like to be able to draw your favorite characters?

If you have those concerns, I would love to help you.

I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels.

I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey. Even to create your portfolios or visual information for your own project or story.

I give private classes with students from different parts of the world, so many of my classes I have been able to do in both English and French.

I studied 2D animation in France, and thanks to this training, my work has been nourished by dynamism, storytelling, expressiveness, typical of this medium, as well as the sensitivity for color and shapes that I usually use to infuse a unique style both to my original designs as well as my fanarts.

The program is designed for students interested in concept art, illustration, visual storytelling, and portfolio preparation for art schools, animation/game-related programs, or independent artistic development. It follows a mentorship-based approach, combining artistic foundations, conceptual thinking, and portfolio strategy, adapted to everyone's style, vision and long-term goals.

What's in it?

PART I

1. Artistic & visual language

• Traditional drawing & illustration techniques
• Shape & form study
• Light, color & values
• Composition & visual storytelling

2. World-building & visual thinking

• Environment design (natural & built spaces)
• Props, objects, and visual detail
• Character concepts (anatomy basics, silhouettes, expression)
• Style exploration (realistic, stylized, symbolic, experimental)
• References vs originality: how to build from research without imitation

3. Cognitive & creative process

• Artistic thinking & workflow
• From idea to image
• Documentation & reference gathering
• Moodboards & visual research
• Iteration, selection, refinement
• Knowing when a piece is finished

4. Digital foundations (optional / hybrid)

• Transition from traditional to digital
• 2D digital tools & workflows
• Layer logic, brushes, textures
• Digital painting fundamentals
• Presentation-ready images
• Case studies from professional concept artists & illustrators

This section is optional and may be skipped for students with prior digital experience. In such cases, the focus will be on refining and strengthening what has already been acquired.

IMPORTANT!

All sections in Part I (artistic practice, visual language, world-building, technical and digital foundations) are approached according to the student’s existing level, from beginner to advanced. If foundational skills are already present, these areas will not be repeated mechanically; instead, the focus will shift toward portfolio development, conceptual depth, and refinement of existing work.

PART II

Portfolio development & mentorship

1. Portfolio building

• Defining the student’s artistic direction
• Selecting and developing strong themes
• Creating cohesive series, not isolated images
• Aligning personal style with academic or professional expectations
• Consistent review, feedback, and refinement

2. Application-specific support (where applicable)

• Portfolio selection & sequencing
• Artist statements or motivation letters (with visuals)
• Adapting work to specific institutions or programs
• Understanding evaluation criteria
