Having recently graduated with a First-Class BA in French and German from the University of Oxford, I am keen to share my passion for languages by helping German learners perform successfully, placing a particular emphasis on speaking and grammar teaching. I offer tutoring for beginners aged 5-18 and adult learners. Before memorisation, I focus on communication and understanding, moving at the student's pace to ensure that any new material has been absorbed.

I have tutored for four years, both online and in person, and have a strong academic record that reflects my committed attitude. I have taught beginners, those preparing for 13+ scholarship exams, and GCSE students. I am familiar with most examination boards at GCSE and A Level, especially Cambridge iGCSE and Pre-U. Furthermore, I offer tailored support with personal statements and Oxbridge interview preparation.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

I offer individual or group lessons for German. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs. The programme focuses on your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life.

What is particularly important to me:

motivating my students and help them establish a learning rhythm;
encouraging their creativity;
helping them become more familiar with the language;
teaching them the letters and their sounds;
strengthening their memory by training their phonological loop;
teaching sentence building plans instead of memorising sentences;
explaining how language works so that my students can become independent as quickly as possible.

German and French primary education and secondary education and economics related topics for secondary education and higher education. Furthermore specific tutoring for accounting and Dactylography (10 finger keyboard typing)

I have done some maths tutoring in the past for a Year 4/5 student and a Year 7/8 student. I am enthusiastic about languages and maths and would love to help anyone up to GCSE level who needs some extra support in these subjects.
