Accordion (beginner) lessons for children at Geneva

After 5 years of teaching piano lessons / music theory in Geneva and at the request of many parents for their youngest children, I decided to open a class specializing in rhythm / music theory, allowing an introduction to music through movement, listening, discovering percussion instruments or learning notes using the xylophone. I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory class for 6 years, because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. Ook gaan we aan de slag met verschillende ritmes, noten en toonoefeningen. Als je bezig bent met zingen kan je even al het andere loslaten en dat geeft een heerlijk gevoel van ontspanning waardoor je de rest van de dag extra energie hebt. Je lichaam is je instrument bij het zingen. We proberen dat instrument zo mooi mogelijk te laten klinken.. Tijdens de zanglessen zijn we ook bezig met articulatie, de uitspraak van vreemde talen en ook aan de betekenis van en je gevoel bij een bepaald stuk. Natuurlijk bepalen we samen wat voor soort muziek je gaat zingen. Ook maken we samen een ontdekkingsreis naar jouw favoriete muziek. WIE KAN ER LEREN ZINGEN? Iedereen kan leren zingen. Door de zanglessen zal je merken dat het zingen makkelijker wordt. Bovendien is zingen goed voor ontspanning, zowel van lichaam als geest. Zingen is gewoon genieten!

Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory… or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subject still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building these basic knowledge can be easy, accessible and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, wether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, getting better at pitch matching… we will discuss together. I have many books and material, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you will want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain, is for the time of the class.
