What is the intention for your music making? What is a creative process for music making? How do we prepare ideas? These are some of the key questions that run throughout the course. I intend to get to know each artist on a personal level to broaden my understanding on what they believe in, and push them in the way they wish to, and finding their own sound and identity.

The class is all about reaching for an honest result from the student, whoever you may be, at any level, and whatever background. We will start from the ground up and explore your goals.

My name is Alex , and I have released music on labels such as Love On The Rocks, Touch From A Distance, Farbic Live, Utopia Records to name a few. I have been lucky enough to play all around the world in various clubs, from the acclaimed Rainbow Disco Club in Japan, Fabric in London, and the infamous Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin. I have worked as a composer and sound designer in Theatre and Contemporary Dance, and I have work on a jingles for SONY, and a soundtrack for the launch of Porsche's E-car Taycan.

The pandemic this year has created a very introspective period for me and has helped me ask fundamental questions about myself, in what I do, and what I value the most. Through this process, I found out that teaching or assisting music producers to achieve their goals has given me so much, that I now, would like to connect with people around the world.

I have a BA (Hons) in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London. My musical education mostly came from taking piano & violin lessons from an early age, and then gradually moving towards music production and record collecting. Now, after almost 15 years in music production, I feel ready to go back into education of music: but this time, as the one who teaches.

The guitar is undoubtedly one of the most popular instruments of the modern age. It is so versatile and used in many genres ranging from classical music to Death Metal and even Electronic Music.

I will teach you the basics of playing the guitar, and I'll spice it up later with my experience in composition and songwriting. We will learn by example through the famous songs that shaped our understanding of the guitar. Whether you prefer singer-songwriter-style songs, or thrash metal we'll get there together.

I will teach mainly using the guitar tablature format, we can do sheet music which is generally unneeded for anything besides classical, but I will need to refresh my music sheet reading skills as I haven't had to read any in the last 10 years.
