About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Passionate about music and meetings.

I started the music at the age of 6, with this beautiful instrument that is the harp and I never stopped :)

I studied the harp for 10 years in academy, participated in many competitions, while attending music theory, choir, improvisation and musical composition classes.
I also started the guitar and the piano in self-study, in parallel with my lessons. And I also started singing.
Once my studies of harp finished, I went on a trip, in Cuba for a few months, for the music, but also for the human experience and the Spanish language!
I then participated in the show The Voice France, in the team of Louis Bertignac.
Subsequently, I trained in harp-jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston and then Valence (Spain), from 2014 to 2017.
I then spent 2 months in South America (Colombia and Brazil) to broaden my musical knowledge and I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2017.
After that, I lived in New York for 3 years where I explored the music scene with my music group.
I am now back in Belgium where I teach the harp at the Royal Conservatory of Liège.

Music is part of my life, I could not do without it. And being able to teach this passion, to transmit this knowledge, is for me indispensable and magical!

I hope we will have the opportunity to share a lot together!

Awesome ! For me, an adult, who has never sang in my life and who is completely out of my comfort zone by throwing myself into this, I feared disaster, that I would not dare to release a single sound, but Pia immediately made me feel super comfortable, she's pleasant, we feel confident very quickly, and the class was done in a good mood, great! :)

Pia is not only a great teacher but also a very open person with a personality as rich as world music! Each class is a new adventure and I learned a lot thanks to it! What I admire about her is her professionalism. She manages to push us to the best of ourselves, to achieve notes, which at one time seemed impossible to do, for example. Its methodology allows us to acquire knowledge more quickly and to open ourselves up thanks to the different exercises it offers. His classes are always well organized and structured. And the biggest final touch, Pia can play several musical instruments, which makes us want to deepen our knowledge of the musical world! I highly recommend classes with this very talented artist! Thanks Pia!

My name is Pia, I am a professional harpist-singer, composer and arranger. I have been playing the harp for over 20 years, studied classical music for 10 years and then moved on to other styles and created my own musical projects. I like teaching the harp "otherwise". For beginners, we will start, of course, with the basics of technique. For more advanced harpists, we can explore different styles, approach the rhythmic harp, improvisation, different jazz standards, try arrangements of pieces known to your requests, and even include singing, if you wish :) Schedules will be defined together. Here are some points of my biography -Provision to: Festival Mundial del Arpa in Paraguay; Vancouver Island Music Fest in Canada; Festival Internacional Arpa Sentmenat in Spain, Encuentro International Maestros del Arpa in Colombia, Boston Harp Festival in the United States, Gaume Jazz Festival in Belgium, and many others. -Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (2014-> 2017) in jazz harp and from Valencia - Spain (2015) and obtained one of the best scholarships awarded by the school -2017 to 2020: Professional musical life in New York. -Participation in the show The Voice France in the team of Louis Bertignac (2012) -Highly graduated from the Nancy International Music Academy singing, major of his promotion, with special mention unanimously, with the congratulations of the jury (2011) -Winner of many musical competitions, such as the Belgian national competition Dexia "Axion Classic" in 2008 (1st prize), the Ufam competition in Paris, in 2000 (Mention très bien) and 2006 (1st medal), the Felix Godefroid competition in 2003 (1st prize), the Imagine competition in 2009 (1st place), semi-finalist of the Dutch Harp Festival Competition in 2018. -Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, Belgium. Do not hesitate to contact me for any question (s) and / or if you are interested!

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

That's what I learn every day by studying music and that's what I would like to transfer to my students. I've been told that If you have music in your life, you can't be a bad person. I believe in it. I offer live and online lessons: Piano Vocals Ear Training Technique Improvisation Repertoire Music Theory

Music lessons in Piano (up to Grade 8) or Singing (up to Grade 5)
Having had 15 years of piano lessons, one thing has been constant through the performances and exams I have taken - Enjoyment. This is a key aspect that the students enjoy playing the instrument and are motivated to keep on playing and learning new pieces or techniques. Piano has often in my life been my biggest hobby and an escape from other things going on, and this is something I hope to provide to anyone interested in learning this wonderful instrument. I am able to teach all abilities ranging from causal lessons up to Grade 8 standard for Piano. Having had 9 years of singing within Chapel, University and Scottish Choirs, I have been able to cover a wide range of repertoire and techniques on how to improve my singing style. During both school and university, Singing within choirs was my biggest extra-curricular, and I aim to teach lessons in a way that can encourage budding singers to grow in their confidence and ability. Singing is a social and enjoyable experience, and this is the key thing in lessons that students choose to learn songs and techniques they are keen to cover and feel engaged when improving their singing. I am able to teach all abilities ranging from causal lessons up to Grade 5 standard for Singing. I have both an ARSM Diploma and an ATCL Associate's Degree from ABRSM and Trinity College London, meaning I play up to Undergraduate standard. Combined with being a Graduate in Mathematics and Music, which has included opportunities to teach in my degree for Mathematics, means I have knowledge over how to ensure lessons remain engaging and students are kept motivated. I am a member of the University of Edinburgh's choir and NYCOS National Choir, while also having a Choral Scholarship at Church of the Sacred Heart and Old Saint Paul's Church. Involvement within these, along with past choirs such as the Fettes College Chapel Choir, has meant I am a strong singer and know how to get the best out of a singing lesson. Helping out with conducting across some of these choirs has given me experience of teaching Music, and alongside teaching Mathematics to primary schools, I can use these skills of being organised and having good communication to help make my lessons engaging.

Ziad
Oriental Arabic Oud and Singing Teacher in Mönchengladbach
Experienced Oud & Oriental singing teacher for over 8 years, Lebanese, currently residing in Mönchengladbach. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I was a teacher at Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and also offered private lessons. Additionally, I served as a concertmaster in the oriental orchestra "Loubnan Assalam" for more than 5 years. My reason for relocating to Germany is to complete my studies at the University of Kamp Lintfort. I am fluent in English, Couramment en français, ولغتي الأم هي اللغة العربية. Unfortunately, I speak only a little German (Aber leider spreche ich ein bisschen Deutsch). My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. However, if you lack a passion for music or the instrument itself, I advise against pursuing it. As a friendly and passionate teacher, I derive joy from witnessing my students' progress and enjoy playing duets with them. While in-person meetings are preferable, I also offer online lessons for those unable to meet in person. Feel free to leave me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
