Hello everybody, Do you want to learn how to play drums? I’m available to give private lessons in Brussels, I have a studio where I can teach you. I really want to share my knowledge about this beautiful instrument with people who are curious and motivated to learn new stuff.

Graduated in singing, pop singing and computer music at the IMEP (Royal Higher Institute of Music and Education), I teach beginners, amateurs, as well as children, especially in a non-profit organization in the Namur region. Firstly, it is essential to put the student at ease and to understand what their desires are in order to be able to help them to flourish musically as much as possible. Thanks to my various training courses, learning recording techniques is also possible. Likewise, having lived in Australia and Spain, I can offer accent-focused coaching in English and/or Spanish. Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.

I'm a classically trained bass player with 28+ years experience. I offer tuition on the electric bass guitar covering everything from fundamentals to writing basslines and advanced techniques. Becoming a confident musician is a skill that requires discipline, dedication and hard work. However I strongly believe that whether you wish to progress your skills on an instrument to a professional level, simply get the most out of playing In a band with friends or jamming along to your favourite playlists, the art of learning an instrument is an incredibly rewarding skill. In our lessons we will focus on building a solid foundation across the basics of playing the Drum Kit. We will discover the rich and diverse history of the instrument and move through the jazz, funk, rock and pop era's of music. While I am happy to tailor all of these lessons to the student's needs, I do believe having a basic knowledge of where the instrument and it's vocabulary came from is essential and will have a positive impact on the students playing. Listening is important! We will work through a number of landmark recordings that carve the path of the Drum Kit's evolution and continue the listening process all the way to your favourite songs and how the drums affect that music and the rest of the band! I am also happy to work through ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall and/or Rockschool exam grades. Music is all about communication, and being able to fluently communicate ideas on any instrument requires time and practice. However, like with your very first English lessons in school, over time you can develop the skill of communication to a point where you can exchange many different ideas and create interesting conversations (this time between musical instruments rather than your friends in the pub!). Although I understand music is a not a career for everyone, I strongly believe that learning how to play any instrument properly with discipline and good practice will enhance your life is more ways than anyone who doesn't play music will understand.

Thanks to my studies in music production in Berlin (B.A) and years of experience as a musician and composer, I can show you in a professional but also very entertaining way which steps are necessary from the idea to the finished song. I would be happy to make all of my knowledge available to you. I invite you to my studio, where I mainly work with Logic. A large selection of well-known plugins and hardware complement my setup. We will be happy to see each other either via Zoom or, if you live near Torrevieja (Alicante), in my studio. Let's develop a piece of music for a short film scene. From the idea to the finished product and then we mix and master it too. However, if you are only interested in individual modules, we will create a study plan tailored to your needs. Students who speak English or German are well suited. But I also speak some Spanish and can therefore help you in Spanish as well.

The classes behave based on the interests and level of the student. The idea is to have fun and set objectives and goals to work on to simultaneously advance in technique and musicality when playing the drums. At the same time, there is constant work on posture, breathing and relaxation to improve the interpretation of the instrument and avoid long-term injuries. Usually the class is divided into two sections, the first with technical work to achieve greater ease and comfort when performing, exercises are given to improve musical rhythmic reading applied to the drums, coordination, speed, rudiments, drum exercises and different hits where we will experiment with timbres. The second part is practical; We will perform a repertoire of interest, we will practice rhythms, grooves, applying breaks and fills of different styles. All this aimed at working on musicality and intuition that allows developing a rhythmic "ear", improvising and even composing and arranging one's own songs.
