I have a doctorate in molecular and cellular biology. I am a high school biology and practical work teacher with many years of experience in laboratory research and the pharmaceutical industry. I offer support for courses in different subjects related to biology (microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry...). I rely on the student's course documents. The sessions are organized according to the student's needs and questions.

(or simple upgrade) Sciences are often hard to assimilate because of their sometimes abstract nature or because of the enormous amount of information to remember. My goal is to help the student progress at their own pace through a real understanding of the material. What's the point of remembering if you don't understand. I check whether the material has been assimilated from one lesson to the next and I can provide additional exercises if necessary.

The first class will be devoted to see the level of the student (test, oral questions) and the difficulties he encounters. Then we proceed with a system of session of two parts: a theoretical part then a session of exercises. The student will have tests from time to time to make sure he understands the materials.

Typically a course is done in two stages: 1) A first passage on the theory in order to identify the students' difficulties and the material to study for future exercises. Then deconstruct the concepts that pose problems into several concepts that are accessible to the student. Once I have explained a concept, I do not hesitate to ask the student to explain again in their own words what they have understood, in order to make the learning active. 2) We move on to the exercises to do, typically I let the student think about the exercise for 2-3 minutes before helping them solve it. Again, as we move from one stage to the next, I always ask the question "why?" so that the student can explain to me what he understood. So I check that he or she has understood the concepts used to move forward and learning then happens naturally.

Hello all! I love facilitating learning and I've been tutoring, mentoring, and teaching off and on since 2004. My subject area expertises are chemistry and mathematics. I obtained my Bachlelors degree in the two in 2011 and my Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2018.
