NeuroMove: Expert-Led Exercise Classes for Neurological Conditions

I am a physiotherapist offering one-on-one online Zoom neuro-rehabilitation fitness classes for individuals with stroke, cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis, as well as those looking to improve their fitness from home.

The program starts with a one-on-one physiotherapy assessment and goal-setting session, followed by eight personalized classes, with the option to continue as needed. Exercises will be tailored to your abilities, and a medical clearance from your doctor is recommended before starting.

We will begin with chair-based exercises that can be done at home and gradually progress as needed, focusing on strengthening major muscle groups in the upper and lower extremities, along with balance training.

Para comenzar a trabajar, se corrige la postura: la espalda debe de estar recta, los hombros alineados con la cadera y la cabeza alta. La bailarina debe tomar conciencia del trabajo que va a realizar, y sentir que "crece", de forma que su cuerpo se prepara naturalmente y "gana altura". Este hecho es, evidentemente, más psicológico que físico, pero necesario para lograr una correcta concentración y realización de los movimientos.

Empezando por la cadera, se aprende a aislarla del resto del cuerpo para crear figuras circulares. Después se trabaja el vientre como lo hacen los yoguis: jugando con el aire, para finalmente armonizarlo con el movimiento del cuerpo. Es importante lograr un movimiento "limpio" y puro, ya que será la base sobre la que creemos combinaciones y ritmos.

Además de las ondulaciones del torso, creando figuras como el camello, las caderas describen líneas rectas y símbolos del infinito (ocho y maya); los hombros describen olas o acompañan el movimiento con acentos, al igual que el cuello se mueve sutilmente, siguiendo el ritmo del cuerpo.
