We will start our lessons by learning the most basic skills such as correct pronunciation and simple grammar rules. We will continue to improve our speaking, listening and grammar levels by learning new informations step by step. Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.

Hi, I am Hatice from Istanbul. I HAVE BEEN TEACHİNG ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE FOR 25 YEARS. I am a native speaker of Turkish and was born in Istanbul. I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty. While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in. I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I lived and worked in London, Toronto, and S. Korea. Living as an expat and learning several languages have helped me having sympathy with my students. Motivation, feeling relaxed and setting realistic targets, in the beginning, are usually the first thing to go. As for my formal education, I studied Economics, International Relations, Western Philosophy, and American language and literature at the university (MA and BA). And after my 40 years old, I learned classical Arabic and Persian and started to study Islamic spirituality at the doctorate level. I taught English at Prep. school at Istanbul Technical University and Yeditepe University and am retired. Ever since I could remember I have been a teacher. Now I only teach Turkish privately and translate classical novels from English to Turkish. I translated 12 books from English to Turkish. I teach Turkish that is tailored for each student. Each student is unique for me and I know that every student has her/his own way of learning. If you are a beginner I give a short lecture about the history of Turkish and its characteristics and help you find your way in this very logical, consistent and elegant language. You understand that Turkish is different but that does not necessarily mean difficulty. From the first lesson, you start speaking Turkish and find yourself in a dialogue. I can teach at my place and your place (all around Istanbul). I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar. I try to keep in contact with my students almost every day through whatsapp and email. And start some short dialogues.

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English. I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid understanding of grammar, as Turkish has a very different structure. I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation. I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels. The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons. I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature. One-on-one lessons on Apprentus are just for you.
