My name is Chris and I can help you achieve your English language learning goals. Can you already speak English but want to improve? If so, my classes could work for you.

I run classes that have a strong focus on spoken conversational English. Classes are usually based around a topic, from which we will have conversations in English. These topics can be tailored to areas that you want to improve. These sessions aim to help you:

- Improve you Speaking Skills
- Develop fluid Conversation skills
- Improve your listening skills
- Learn new and specific words
- Get better at pronouncing

**Due to work commitments I am currently unable to offer any tuition. I will be available again from the end of October.**

My name is Chris and I am originally from the UK.

I have experience working with adults and children as a teacher. My approach to teaching languages is to focus on spoken word and conversations, with the aim of improving spoken fluency.

I have been living permanently in Finland since November 2016. During this time I developed a keen interest in Finnish culture and its language. My Finnish spoken level is around a B2, and I am currently studying on an intensive course. I have a passion for languages, and I would like to be able to help you reach your language goals in English.

I have a wilderness guiding qualification also, and I have worked 2 winters up in Lapland as a Husky Guide, and 2 summers in Helsinki - one in a bar and the other as a kayaking guide.

If you've lost confidence in English or German, want to start from scratch or want to perfect already present knowledge, I can help you achieve your goals, drawing on 20+ years of successful teaching.

I spent my childhood and teens moving back and forth between Germany and America (attending local schools) as a French citizen, so in addition to being a native speaker of both languages, I am also sensitive to individual concerns that can come up e.g. shyness, difficulty expressing oneself, etc. I have taught private students from all walks of life in Germany, France, Hungary, UK, USA, and now Finland, focusing on anything from run-of-the-mill tutoring to specific needs e.g. confidence in public speaking, social settings related to work, preparation for college / grad school.

My method is to motivate students by setting challenges that let them see their own success. Each country also has its own method of teaching and learning, which can greatly assist in acquiring language skills.

You will gain confidence, speak with ease, learn to speak as naturally as a native speaker and know the difference between their / they're / there at the very least.

I specialize in teaching German, English, Russian as foreign languages, both for people which want to learn for business, travel, fun or other reasons. My goal is to handle an individual with each person that suits exactly his or her needs, wishes and goals.

I can help you with English grammar and vocabulary or prepare you for a specific exam. Depending on your wishes, I can also work with you on your conversation or writing skills. I'd be happy to help you with any kind of problem you have in English.

English is an international language and it is never too late to brush up your conversation skills to chat with friends, for a job interview, to participate in meetings or pass a test to prove your language skills. I have a student-centred approach based on a mutual discussion about what goals you want to achieve and the duration to realize them.
