About Me:
I am born and raised in Southern California, but live in The Netherlands with my Dutch partner. We both are professional musicians and I specialize in Piano Performance and Music Theory. I've graduated from University of California, Irvine and have finished Certificate of Merit in Piano (conservatory) in Los Angeles, California.

I am confident that you will enjoy the lessons with me because I make them fun, educational and with positive spirit.

Hi! I'm Mona, and I'm an experienced music instructor of over 10 years with a high focus in piano and music theory. I'm incredibly passionate in teaching piano while incorporating proper music theory education, competition, performance, and technique. I tailor my lessons based on your needs to make sure you are enjoying your studies while becoming a well-rounded musician. I also can score almost any song (regardless of the instrument) so you can learn how to play your favorite pieces on the piano!

Have you always dreamt of recording your own song? Do you want to take your musical ideas to the next level?

Regardless if you've never recorded your own music or if you've already experimented with Digital Audio Workstations (DAW), this course will teach you the basics of music composition and production. We will use both basic music theory and music production tricks to come up with and create your first song(s). From brainstorming song ideas on the piano or guitar, recording vocals and percussion or adding drums in the DAW, you will have complete freedom over your creativity.

Main skills taught: basics of DAWs, recording and mixing instruments and vocals, using and manipulating samples, creating drum beats and chord progressions, music theory, expressing and communicating musical ideas, complementary knowledge about music history.

Music has always been my biggest passion and I really enjoy sharing it with other people. My main music genres are pop, rnb, ballades, a bit of jazz, and soul.
I can read musical notes, but I mainly play by ear (which can be learned too!). I am into music theory and how it helps to understand what one hears and plays.
When it comes to singing, I know some basic techniques and can help with pitch, harmonizing, control, and feeling comfortable/confident when singing.

I am a student at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in the Early Music department, the beautiful and special instrument Harpsichord is my main subject and my passion. I am offering harpsichord, piano and solfège, lessons, on top of music theory for beginners and intermediate levels at home and also online.

Anything that is part of a fundamental understanding of music, e.g. music theory, solfège, rhythm and piano will be taught. For me it is very important that the lessons is specifically made for the students regarding content and length. If asked violin and ballett can be taught as well. In that way the necessary aspects of a well rounded musician can be built up.
