I am a Postgraduate Student at the University of St Andrews offering Spanish and Italian lessons to people of all ages and levels. I am fluent in both languages and have just received a First Class degree in Spanish and Italian from the University of Edinburgh. I cater each lesson to the individual as I understand that each student has a different way of learning. I concentrate mainly on vital skills like reading, writing and listening. I have 4 years of experience and can offer support for upcoming National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams as well as GCSE and A Level.

My class is designed to help National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher students with the History curriculum and provide them with the skills and understanding to study for their upcoming exams. I am a recent History graduate from the University of Glasgow, and I felt that children and students might benefit from my History classes to strengthen their skills and knowledge. I am experienced with the Scottish curriculum and I have an extensive knowledge of major historical periods and events, which I would like to share through my classes. Overview: I offer bespoke tutoring services to school pupils and individuals studying History, Politics, and English. With a background in History and experience in the teaching and media sectors, I provide a professional, insightful, and comprehensive service aimed at improving a client's understanding of a topic, their confidence within it, and targeting specific issues and skills as required. We live in a diverse world, and it's important to reflect that diversity in teaching. I believe in using a variety of sources to help teach, ranging from films, to books, to music clips. This is particularly important in the context of clients with LS needs, as a focus on one kind of source can impact the pupil's experience,and hinder their success. My lessons are based on a core Learning Objective, changing from lesson to lesson with the curriculum. Around that, there will be a series of case studies, examples, and anecdotes, with personalised support for exam answers if required. Half the battle with the humanities is ensuring that good ideas are communicated well- I seek to teach history and support the development of those communication skills to ensure that the pupil's ability is reflected.

While studying Social Anthropology and Politics, I would like to exploit my love for languages as well as my inner desire of bringing with me a piece of my cultural background. Teaching is a mutual exchange in which everyone can enlarge his points of view. My lessons are shaped according to needs and goals students want to meet. I think everyone has his own better way of learning and peculiar strengths and weaknesses, and it is important to know these ones in order to succeed. I adopt an innovative approach, which involves speaking, listening and studying with interactive media. My purpose is to work on the four parts of the language (Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading). I carefully select the material I use. I want my lessons to be stimulating and consider them to be a moment of mutual growth. I like my students to be enthusiastic of learning and always ready to be challenged. I have studied Latin language and literature, Italian, Ancient Greek, philosophy (etcetera) for 5 years and I have been teaching for three years. Thanks to private tutoring, I have developed a profound empathy (it is important to recognise needs and skills of students since I tailor my classes according to their attitudes and levels) as well as effective methods to overcome difficulties learners would eventually meet. I'm very dynamic so I do not want standard classes in which students simply receive notions, but a stimulating environment where everyone can learn by getting into Italian culture as well as making comparisons and discussing about different topics.
