Trusted teacher: Portuguese is part of the family of Latin languages, including Ibero-Romance languages, such as Spanish (or "Castilian"), Catalan and Galician. His accent is closer to Catalan and Galician (which shares the same roots) and the pronunciation of certain words has some peculiarities: the letter ç (with the cedilla) is used before the "a", the "o" and the "u" (as in French); the circumflex accent is used on the vowels for the pronunciation of the closed vowels ("â" as Câmara, "ê" as pêssego - and as "summer" - and "ô" as avô - and as "eau"); the acute accent (') is used for the pronunciation of open vowels (the grave accent is rarely used), such as' á' (água), 'é' (p- or 'head') and 'ó' ( as mó); the tilde (~) is used on the letters ã (as mãe or pão) and õ (as põe) to indicate a nasal pronunciation of these vowels; Portuguese uses many oral diphthongs, such as "ai" (pai), "ei" (as lei), "oi" (as boi), "ui" (as Rui), and "iu" (as viu); the letter "s" is pronounced like "ch" at the end of the words (as francés or pessoas) or before a consonant (as estar or esperança). When the letter "s" is at the beginning of the words (like sapo) or in case of double consonant (like passado), it is pronounced like the French word "sac". If the letter "s" is between two vowels (like casa) it is pronounced like the letter "z" (like "zero"). Portuguese has two official standards: the Portuguese standard and the Brazilian standard (no, the "Brazilian" does not exist!). Each official standard has differences in emphasis (more open in Brazil than in Portugal), vocabulary and some syntactic structures. In addition to these two official standards, Portuguese also has a great variety of accents and a great wealth of vocabulary, especially in Portuguese-speaking African countries, as well as in Asia or Oceania.

Trusted teacher: In French: ¡Hola! Olá! My two mother tongues are Portuguese and Spanish. As a Brazilian who lived in Latin America for 15 years, I learned to read and write in Spanish, where I also do all my studies. At the same time, the Portuguese was always present at home, with Brazilian friends, vacationing in Brazil and reading many books. I have a training in Styling in Brazil, and apart from my work I gave private lessons of English for teenagers. If you want to learn one or both languages, or if you want to improve it, I will teach you what you need: spelling, grammar, comprehension, oral and written expression, as well as different activities to practice the language. I like to teach, and to accompany the evolution of each student. I can help children, teens and adults. Whether it's homework, or just your personal learning desire. ¿The animas? Vamos lá? Matilde - Germany18€
Trusted teacher: Hi everyone My name is Matilde, I'm 28 years old and I come from Montpellier. I have been living abroad for almost 7 years, first in Portugal then in Germany where I am still living. My main hobbies are: traveling, spending time with my family (mainly in Portugal) and going to coffee with my friends, cooking, seeing theater plays and walking in parks or at the beach. I have a Bachelor degree in applied foreign languages (LEA) as well as a Master degree in FLE (French as a foreign language). My mother tongue is French but I also speak Portuguese and English fluently. After that I taught in a "VHS '' which is a German language center offering evening classes for adults. Since the health crisis I have been giving French and Portuguese online lessons. At the same time, I became a language trainer at AFB-Línguas'' and Lingoda. Since I am a good listener, dialogue and trust are essential points for me. I like to vary the types of documents and work on several skills simultaneously in order to make it motivating. I will also emphasize oral expression because I think that a language is above all a tool for communication and sharing. However, I am perfectly aware that daring to speak is not easy. That's the reason why I will kindly encourage you to express yourself. I will always make sure that you feel comfortable and not afraid to make mistakes. Whatever your motivations are, I'm here to listen and guide you through your learning process. My goal is for you to enjoy the classes and gain confidence! :)

Hello! My name is Julieta, I am Argentine and I am currently residing in Germany. I am a certified Portuguese teacher. I have years of experience in teaching classes at all levels (I have taught children from 5 years old in schools to older adults in universities) I have also served as an area reference and tutor in different educational institutions. Although in my training I have known and learned about the Portuguese language in general, including its European variant, since I lived in Brazil, I specialize in the Brazilian variant of the language. The classes are approached from different areas: phonetics, grammar, specific semantic fields, culture, among others. Because as Flora Lewis has said: "Learning another language is not just learning different words for the same things, but learning another way of thinking about things." I also have a degree in Education, with a mention in Educational Technologies. This allows me to further deepen my ability to use the theoretical-methodological contributions and technical resources that are relevant in each educational situation. I also have a diploma in Neuroeducation applied to learning. This discipline combines the contributions of cognitive neurosciences, pedagogy and psychology to help the teaching and learning processes and improve pedagogical strategies. These experiences allow me to diversify the methodologies and didactics of the classes and thus nurture them much more as well as implement different tools and empirical evidence that make up an integrative and transdisciplinary approach, to work with the potential of each student and know how to adapt the methodologies to the better circumstances.

English with a Native Internationally Certified Teacher (Ixelles-Elsene)
It is never easy to find a good language teacher, who is professional, but also flexible enough to meet the student’s individual needs. Juliana is a fantastic teacher, whose experience, knowledge, understanding and patience creates the perfect atmosphere for improving one’s language skills at all levels. Juliana’s flexibility and adaptation to – the sometimes hectic - availability of students is also very rare and exemplary. Moreover, her extensive world-view/experience helps to maintain conversations with students in any particular subject. Having language courses with Juliana is highly recommended.

Portuguese course: conversation, culture and grammar for young people and adults (Ixelles-Elsene)
Fernando is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend taking his classes. He is well-structured and I enjoyed his teaching style. He clearly identifies your most recurring mistakes and helps you progressively get rid of them. Classes are very varied (reading, listening, speaking, ...) and he is very flexible so as to focus on the aspects you want to improve most. I made a lot of progress and got more confident speaking in Portuguese. What made his classes the most enjoyable is that he is a very nice person and great to talk to. As I said, highly recommend!

Portuguese course for adolescents and adults Brussels (Brussels)
Miguel, is a very friendly and flexible teacher. The advantage of one-on-one lessons is that you can move to topics you really want to, or need to address, quite naturally. Miguel does this very well and adapts to your needs, often in quite an innovative manner. We use the standard Portuguese text book as a basis, but have a lot of fun doing different things around that: whether it is specific grammatical points, pronunciation, or structured conversation.
